Soulmate AU Idea

What if instead of being born with a soulmate, you acquire them based on interactions with people.  You develop a mark you share when you have the love and the potential to be soulmates.  You can also lose the marks depending on what happens. So there’s the potential for multiple soulmates and it’s not complete predestination.

So… under the cut have this mess that I thought about. If anyone wants to actually write this/parts of this into a fic that is more than okay

Someone please write this for me: Tater and his family moving to NY from Russia when Tater is in high school. The Mashkovs just so happen to move into the apartment building that the Parsons live in. Kent and Tater get one summer together before Kent leaves for the Q (this could be like a 34 days before the draft sort of thing). Anyways, Tater gets drafted the year before Kent so they don’t end up seeing each other till Kents first game against Providence. Both of them kind of assume that it hadn’t meant as much to the other person than it did to them. Cue literal years of pining.

Bitty getting a job in an unexpected field after graduation. Maybe none of the bakeries in the area are hiring, or he decided he’d prefer to have full creative control over his baking. Or he applies for a few other jobs that would be fitting for him (social media coordinator, something relevant to his experience as a camp councillor etc.) but it doesn’t work out. In the end he stumbles across a job he’d never considered before, but decides it looks interesting, and he gets the position. He finds himself enjoying learning new skills and meeting new people, and it may not end up being a career he wants to pursue but the job is still a valuable experience. (Or, for humour’s sake since I almost misread my own idea, Bitty ends up in an unexpected literal grass field and somehow gets a job out of the experience.)
