Tamao no Koi by Sal Jiang

A oneshot by Sal Jiang for comic yuri’s January 2026 issue

Summary : A story about a young lady in the prime of her romantic life and a seasoned courtesan who flowed in from the West.

A continued strength of Sal Jiang is drawing women of different ages/body types/skin tones and still having a feeling of attraction (also seen in black and white, Ayaka is in Love With Hiroko, and Wicked Spot) Many artists can draw diversely but there’s a layer of genuine attraction in Sal Jiang’s work that I don’t often see (Cho Sangduck is another artist who does this well) I also enjoy how Sal Jiang writes women (in this case the sister) as antagonists.

Minjeong a college student lets a fellow tenant (who is constantly smoking and she can hear having sex) stay in her apartment during a flood. Which will change their relationship forever. (Oneshot explicit).

Asahi to Satsuki by Fujita

This is a one shot manga featuring masc x masc (prince x prince) Yuri. It’s also written by Fujita author of Wotakoi. It’s one of my favorite one shots I’ve ever read. They have a dynamic where one person is flirtatious (blonde hair) and the other is easily exasperated (black hair) by them, but both are very sincere towards one another underneath. It gave me a craving for more masc x masc Yuri. Also finally more basketball player Yuri after the girl I want is so handsome.

Summary : Cool x Cool = Super Cute

Rumor has it that at a certain high school's basketball club there's two students referred to as the "top two".

Oshikoi Capriccio by Choco Miray

This shoujo gl-bl manga (a triple threat if you will) featuring a fujoshi gyaru with a crush on her best friend, who she is shipped with by the himedanshi she ships with his bestfriend who he also has a crush on. Confused ?

Here’s another (better ?) summary :

Mitsu Himekawa, a second-year high school student, secretly loves BL. Together with her best friend Rui Majiima, she spends her days fantasizing about her male classmates. One day, one of her observation targets, Shou Kagomiya, tells her, “Himekawa, you actually like Rui Majima, don't you?”, shocking her.

A chaotic love triangle (?) woven by a BL-loving gyaru and a handsome yuri-loving guy!

This is really cute and I hope it gets licensed (and if we’re asking for things ten more volumes and an anime announcement lol).

The Creator's Grace Vol. 1 Review

The Creators Grace is one of Rosmei's two baihe titles (both by prolific author Ning Yuan). The main character Chi Yu is working to discover the circumstances of her sister Chi Li’s death and what role her sister’s ex Ran Jin might have had in it. All while trying to back the family energy company that her sister left to Ran Jin. Even if that means sabotaging the company’s efforts to gain mining rights to the moon (spearheaded by Ran Jin) and the company’s goal to create an underwater theme park.

The beginning of the story plays out like a drama or a mystery novel,with a crazy hook showing our main characters scheming against one another (mainly Chi Yu) before going back to the events leading up to it. I wasn’t fully invested until after the flash back where we get context for the mc’s actions and capabilities (their power over the business felt a bit hard to believe in the beginning) though much is still unknown by the end of volume one.

I started the story unsure of how well Chi Yu and Ran Jin’s dynamic was going to work for me given I’m not usually interested in family member’s ex stories. But I think this is one of the cases where the author does an excellent job showcasing the love interest’s appeal (in this case a strong suit wearing older sister type who is so self reliant while also so insecure and lonely because she won’t truly rely one anyone with a younger taller manipulative type who means her ill). But a past loving relationship twisted by death and misunderstanding and the change from one form of love to another is very interesting. Especially paired with Ran Jin’s willingness to sacrifice at her own cost even if it causes Chi Yu to despise her.

A few notes before spoilers. As of volume one there is no reference to government involvement of any government in mining the moon. Which did make suspension of disbelief difficult however, given censorship I’m not sure how much Ning Yuan could have included that. The scifi elements of this are on the lower end at this point of the story mainly they add to the mystery at this point. And finally the writing style while not the most skilled I’ve ever read was very compelling if you’d like to preview it you can here : https://rosmeihey.top/pages/preview-creatorsgrace An interesting thing to note is it uses british English which I thought was kind of cool and hadn’t noticed it in other novels I’ve read from rosmei (mainly the historicals). I did enjoy this and will order the rest of the volumes as they become available for preorder @ yiggybean. Spoilers below.

Spoiler Section

I really enjoyed how Chi Yu is made by Ran Jin and circumstances to think Ran Jin is kind of a faithless fuck boy. Causing her to view Ran Jin’s attraction to her through that lens and attempt to use it as a way to manipulate Ran Jin. All while we get the angst of Ran Jin’s unrequited love (and Ran Jin’s refusal to look at herself in the mirror) It’s all very meatbun if meatbun wrote baihe. The car scene was wonderful I don’t often see women getting to be as manipulative as Chi Yu.

Also the kissing to humiliate each other ooh and the scene where Chi Yu almost chokes a drunken Ran Jin.

I didn’t go in to it but I am glad Chi Yu caught onto things not lining up relatively quickly. It would have been very irritating if all these flags that things aren’t as they seem, were waving in her face and she was like but I’m sure that means nothing. It would’ve made her top student status hard to believe. Although naturally I could always have more of women being hateful and scheming towards one another. I think by 3/4 into the story she still thinks Ran Jin is hiding things but doesn’t necessarily believe that Ran Jin murdered Chi Li.

I really liked this line, “ After they left, Ran Jin stood by the window, watching the city lights shimmer in the glass. Their soft, scattered glow blurred her features and softened the stillness in her eyes. Their soft scene felt almost unreal. She had to do this. She was ready to defile her goddess.”

Rosmei also did a wonderful job with the cover where in the front we see Chi Yu at the first party in the story when she was wearing her sister’s dress, perfume, and even had her makeup done in a similar style. And to the left we see a woman wearing earrings that match Chi Yu and the same shade of lipstick. Who I believe is supposed to be Chi Li. She’s not fully opaque like Chi Yu is but she’s the only other person who is not a shadow.

Introduction & Rules

Hi, I created this blog to have a space to review and discuss Yuri comics, novels, games etc. I’d also like to compare yuri with similar plot/couples to similar bl or het couples and works. And I wanted to have a space free from the discourse and puritanical thinking discussed further in the rules section of this post.

I think whether or not a review is positive it can still help someone to decide to read that work as tastes vary. I will also be avoiding these words in my reviews : problematic, fetishization, male gaze, female gaze, toxic, pure, and goon. So I hope to provide all context I can to help people decide whether or not to read/watch something. I’d also like my blog to be open and helpful to you whether or not you’re new to Yuri, already a fan, or just like reading reviews (my incoherent rambling). I do aim for this to be a fan blog rather than a platform for monetizing. So anything I review will be something I’m actually interested in and purchased with my own money.

I’m happy you’ve discovered this blog. However I do reserve the right to delete comments and block accounts if they engage in the following behaviors on my blog :

1. Bigotry. Racism,xenophobia, transphobia,homophobia, biphobia, queerphobia. Ace-arophobia, and misogyny will not be tolerated.

2. Gatekeeping i.e Who is allowed to read/write queer content discourse. Speculation on the gender/sexuality of writers or other readers.

3. BL vs GL discourse.

4. Pro censorship “If you write this you should be arrested.”

5. No bullying, doxxing, suicide baiting, and any attempts to drum up a hate mob will not be allowed nor will threats.

6. Morality of taste. No “I’m morally superior to you because I like x rather than y.” comments.

I am not interested in feeding the trolls. Any asks sent in bad faith will be deleted. And I will add further rules to this as needed.

Also if you believe something I review to have used generative ai or have any claims of bad behavior (in real life) by the author list your reasons in a clear concise format and cite your sources. I will not be engaging in witch hunts.
