I just really want USASF to stop giving so many bids out to American teams and give them more to international teams, you know, make it more WORLDS and less USA ft. Some Other Countries.

why would they do that when more than half of those international teams can’t score above 100 points and still get to take 3 teams per country to finals while leaving out tons of deserving american teams in the process

It’s kind of a catch 22 because while we want ACTUAL international participation we also need to make sure we’re not just tossing perfectly amazing american teams off to the side because some team in 506th place is from another country lol. Especially after being told they were moving on.

As a cheerleader from a country where cheerleading is not as developped as it is in the US, I would very much like to ask you to kindly get off your high horses. American cheerleading has existed for far longer and all your teams emulate from each other, which makes for an incredible level of skills and talents, and wins you worlds most times. However I am here to tell you that it would be common sense to allow more of those international teams you look down on to compete at worlds with a BID. Almost none have bids, we pay thousands of dollars to fly around the world to get to your competition. Just like the American teams those teams give their all and are the best in their countries. Every year the level of non American teams gets closer to the level of American teams. So yes it is a necessity for USASF to offer bids to more international teams so that it makes sense for the competition to be called worlds. You’ve got all year long and a trillion competition to compete amongst yourselves. It’s supposed to be an international competition, there should be a limit of how many teams per country should be able to compete, you don’t see Canada whining when they reach that limit. The international cheerleading industry, and cheer in general, cannot evolve if the American cheerleading industry is dead set on keeping worlds all about them. Don’t tell me you didn’t learn a thing or two from some of the international teams that have placed well before (the first that comes to mind is the team from Bangkok university) that have a different approach. Each year those teams are stronger because the sport of cheerleading gets stronger in their respective countries, you can see that in the improvements seen in tumbling which is a notoriously weak skill for international teams. The gap is going to close sooner than you think and it IS in the best interest of the sport to celebrate the diversity of its realizations all over the world and give more opportunities to international teams.

It is but I’m not mad they won I’m mad because there are kids performing at midnight and there are teams out there that complete as large senior but then compete in restricted too. Cheer music is over. The sportsmanship is always in question. The sport is dead lol but I’m still happy for anyone that won.

I forgot to mention that teams that were in 4th place in io5 got told they were moving to finals but then were told they couldn’t go and a team that was in 40th place was allowed to compete instead.

Well it’s not just cheer it’s like that with any spot even at the professional level. We’re all just so invested in it we know a lot more and care a lot more than most on lookers? It just needs to be regulated more and everyone give fair chances and opportunities not just the elite cheer world running things
