@alexa-santi-author I started watching the other day… with the moving and everything this is the first chance I’ve had!!
I just found out one of my favorite AO3 authors of all time is a fucking neurosurgeon which was surprising initially just because I often forget AO3 writers are real people and not smut angels sent down from the heavens to make us feel alive, but in hindsight it makes perfect sense.
they are a fucking genius so. they just apply that genius to multiple fields.
"smut angel" is such a great term.
Post 15: The Talk
Do you ever write something and it's just so hilarious that you're astounded you wrote it? Yeah.
Here are a few tidbits about this fic:
It's one of the only things I've cowritten in my life. (With the fantastically hilarious Originalfamousfremus, who is no longer on Tumblr. She is a tremendous creative, an amazing friend, and absolutely a cheerleader you want in your corner.)
It was plotted almost entirely in a Panera, during a trip back East. 'Fremus and I made it a thing to meet up in the same Panera every year at Christmas-time for YEARS. We sat in that Panera for about 2 hours and got the meat and bones of this plotted. Then, we did the rest in Google Docs.
I hate movies where second-hand embarrassment is a plot device. I don't care for Will Ferrell and the like because I just don't find it funny. But here? Maybe it's because 'Fremus pitched it and it was just so visceral.... it had to be written.
Cowriting is hard. 'Fremus made it actually pretty painless, but the trust required, the intimacy... it was rough.
Writing funny stuff -- deliberately funny stuff -- is difficult. Timing is critical. We went through a lot of edits on this and it was absolutely worth it to get just that absurd Oscar Wilde-ishness we wanted.

We wrote this for S2SL 2015. (For Streetlightlove, who I miss and who I swear changed this fandom for me forever.)
This fic is M. It's Everlark. (There's a little Hayffie as well.) It's canon, if canon were something imagined by Oscar Wilde. About 15K words.
