i’m sorry but it literally astounds me that there are people who truly think the idea of making yourself smell nice is something that only appeared at the turn at the 20th century, rather than something that’s existed for millenia. Shout out to On My Block for being the only show I can think of today that shows realistic teenage boys OF COLOR being so emotionally available, crying and weeping openly in front of each other, comforting & validating each other’s feelings, being physically affectionate with each other without it being weird, and overall subverting so many toxic masculine traits ESPECIALLY for men of color.
