The moon || Cheren and Kris
Hearing Cheren mention her hair, Kris automatically reached up to some of the locks. âOh yeah. I didnât think Iâd be running into anyone, so I didnât bother tying it up.â She answered, glancing at the haphazard state it was in. âItâs a right mess. I canât stand it sometimes.â
Cheren just shrugged at this. He sometimes didn't understand why girls were concerned with their hair.It looks ok no matter what. And besides they are dead cells anyway. No matter what you do, they are not going to become 'healthy' or anything.Â
But he couldn't tell Kris that, so he chose to remain silent instead, gazing up at the moon once again.
"Kris, what is your goal?" he said, realizing a second later how abrupt the question sounded.
Again in the library? || Cheren & Barry
Resisting the urge to roll his eyes again, Barry just let Cheren ramble on and on about the subject, taking the opportunity to daydream a little before having to return to the torture that was writing his essay. So, the blond went through his teamâs move sets, making some mental notes here and there when necessary, remembering that he needed to work with Roselia on the subject of dodging and to take Staraptor on his flight of the day as soon as possible. Â
However, when Cheren mentioned a Pokemon that was virtually immune to all types, Barry came back to Earth. âYou mean like Spiritomb, right?â He had this kind of conversation before, with Sabrina. That girl had stopped every one of his strategies against Physic Pokemon, saying heâd never be able to find a way to pass through all her defenses and beat her Physic types. But Cheren wasnât himâŚ
âIs there⌠a way to beat Physic types? Like⌠a fool-proof plan?â
Cheren sat back when he heard the question. It seemed that Barry was finally listening to him, and then again he was not.Â
"Actually there is a type that is immune to psychic types. If you were paying any attention to what I was saying all the time, you would know what it was" he grinned. He knew Barry had not been listening to anything he had said before he mention the ghost-dark type that was 'immune to all'. But, at the least now that he had his attention, perhaps now Cheren would be able to make him finish his assignment.Â
Though, he could still not figure out why he was helping this boy in the first place.Â
Sigh
Again in the library? || Cheren & Barry
With a sigh, the blond nodded, fighting to keep his eyes open. The library always made him a little sleepy, unless he was interested in what he was doing, and homework wasnât one of those things. Having Cheren bothering him didnât help much, either. Barry ran his eyes over the library, most students were also working on their assignments, but they were probably making more progress than him.
âYou know this wonât go anywhere soon, right?â Barry rolled his eyes at Cheren, the boy should just give up and let him solve this, if he hasnât been caught before, he wonât be now. âYou donât have the patience to teach me, I donât have the patience to listen.â
"I actually do. Now listen here..." he said, as he started  explaining all over again, "Dark types are one of the seventeen types that are ..."
He went over the introductory part, explaining everything as best as he could, and then moved on to the other sections, "Alright, now, dark types have strong attack power. But what's more important is that their moves have secondary effects as well. For example, bite causes flinching and pursuit will ensure a hit even if the pokemon is being called back. Such moves act as a very good strategy while fighting opponents, especially those who have ghost and psychic type pokemon. So the ideal strategy will be if a trainer has ghost and psychic type on his team, you should have a dark type in yours to counter it. Further more, if you have a pokemon who is both ghost type and dark type then the pokemon is virtually immune to all moves as each type fills in the deficient characteristics of the other..."Â
The moon || Cheren and Kris
Kris looked over at Cheren in surprise before smiling, looking up at the moon. âYeah, youâre right. Itâs really pretty.â She nodded. âItâs such a clear night. I donât think Iâve seen the night sky like this.â She looked around at the school grounds, bathed in moonlight, before smiling again. âMaybe when we start our journey, weâll see more nights like this. I hope so.â
"Maybe." said Cheren, still looking up, "but today it seems a little different. I've never seen it like this before. But that's probably because I never really have paid much attention to what was going on outside much."
Glancing back at Kris he added, "you hair... it seems different."

AWWWW
Stroll || Cheren and N
âThatâs great.â he says when he hears what Cheren said. Peace and quiet was definitely the things he needed right now, especially since his painful memories were still fresh in his mind after what he had seen. If he had to deal with his many failed attempts at trying to interact with any other student and the hurt he was feeling right now, nothing good was going to come out of that. Especially since now was his chance to make a new friend, which he was really hopeful that it would go well.
The both of them continued walking towards their destination, the silence between them settling once more. N started to wonder once more whether he should or not, confide this young boy with his problems. No doubt that he would feel a lot better, but would it cause Cheren to see him in a different light? He was afraid that the younger boy would think that N wasâŚabnormal, and distant himself away from N.
Being the way he was, N had immediately assumed that the problems he had faced during his childhood, and the pressure that he was feeling now was what made people shun him. Now that he was in a different environment, he didnât want that to happen here as well. At that moment, he remembers what Anthea had told him right before he had left for this Academy. âGo, my Lord N. Weâll keep your father occupiedâŚin the mean timeâŚI hope you enjoy the rest of your life in schoolâŚâ
He notices that Cheren was talking to him again and he looks up, startled. ââŚItâs not that I donât like being around peopleâŚI just need to be alone for a whileâŚNot that your company is bad or anything, Cheren. I really appreciate you helping me like this.â he smiles at the boy for a brief moment and sighs, ââŚI just need to isolate myself from all of that noise for a whileâŚand figure things outâŚâ
"I know that feeling..." Cheren murmured, thinking that the other didn't hear him. Oh yes, Cheren knew that feeling a little too well, especially in the recent years. A lot many things had happened in the past few years, things that gave way to a lot many questions. Questions that Cheren didn't know how to answer.
And he had to answer them, or else he would go mad. There was no way he could live without knowing their answer. And he had tried, tried his level best to find their answers. But so far, he hadn't made any progress.Â
He didn't know anyone else who could answer them either. Not one of his friends, not one of his teachers, not one of the Professors could answer them, and he desperately needed the answers.Â
Cheren thought about telling them to the green haired senior who was walking behind him with an expression that seemed to mask unimaginable amount of pain. But should he? Maybe the senior didn't want to talk? He did say he wanted to be alone.Â
Should he ask?
The moon || Cheren and Kris
âAvoiding teachers, unfortunately.â Kris grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head. âI was meant to pick up a book from the library for a class tomorrow, but it might have slipped my mind. So, Iâve got to get it now, even though it is after hours and Iâll get into so much trouble if Iâm caught!â She grinned, walking over to lean on the balcony. âIt was stupid of me, I know, but I just forgot! It wasnât my fault at all!â She defended herself, glancing over at Cheren before looking over at the view of the castle. There was always one positive to sneaking out after hours, and that was the academy at night. No matter the weather, it always seemed to be vibrant and beautiful, and tonight was no exception. Kris looked up at the moon, grinning as she resisted the urge to reach up and try to grab it.
Turning back to Cheren, she smiled. âSo, whatâre you doing here? Iâd have thought youâd be tucked up in bed so you can be ready for classes tomorrow!â She chuckled, leaning back as she fiddled with a lock of her light blue hair. She hadnât bothered tying it into the normal pigtails tonight, seeing as she thought she was just getting this book.
Cheren didn't know how to answer that question. What would he tell her? That he was waiting over here, well after curfew, just for something to happen? There was no way he could explain that in a way that the other wouldn't misunderstand, and he didn't want any misunderstandings at this moment.Â
"The moon is really beautiful..." he said, a second before realizing how out of character he sounded. But he couldn't help it, the moon had after all entranced him, even though Cheren would never admit that, not generally.
Again in the library? || Cheren & Barry
The blond just sighed as he let Cheren flip through the book. âItâs not that I donât understand, I just donât know what to write.â Assigments like this were always hard for Barry, who needed something to do or heâd lose interest easily. Tell him to battle against a trainer specialized in Dark types? Sure, he could do it. Because battling didnât include sitting down and doing nothing more than write and write.
A sudden thought crossed Barryâs mind, and the boy didnât even think before asking the question. âHow much would I have to pay you to write the essay for me?â Barry shrugged, realizing Cheren would probably say no, no matter what. âThat way youâll get rid of me quicker.â
It took a while Cheren to fully understand what the blond had said, not because he couldn't understand the request, but more that couldn't understand how someone could ever utter something so severely stupid. Was the boy ok in the head? Was there some permanent defect that caused him to speak such things?
"Do you realize what you are saying?" Cheren asked, barely managing to keep his irritation in check, "Did you really think I would agree? And as much as I want to get rid of you, I do not want to achieve that by using these means. Now look here, I'll explain this one last time and be sure to listen well."

The moon
Kris had no idea why she was out of her dorm after hours again, but this time it wasnât her fault for once. She was trying to sneak into the library to get a book that she may or may not have forgotten. It may also be very important for her class tomorrow, which would explain why she was trying to get the book now. However, she couldnât take the shortest route to the library due to the teachers patrolling the corridors. Cursing her bad luck, she quickly dodged into a balcony, hiding and holding her breath as the professor walked away. Breathing a sigh of relief, she froze when she spotted someone else on the balcony.
âHello?â She asked, taking a step closer before she realised it was Cheren. âOh, thank Arceus for that! Hi, Cheren! Whatâre you doing here, this time of night?â
Cheren literally jumped out of his skin when he heard the voice. As he turned around, his heart threatening to burst out of him, he spotted Kris in the distance.Â
"Oh Kris, h-hi." said Cheren, forcing his frenzied nerves to calm down, "I could say the same to you really. What are you doing here?"
Now Cheren wondered if this was what he was waiting for. But well, why would he be waiting to meet Kris? She was in his house, he could meet her whenever he wanted. But Cheren decided to go with the flow of event anyway.
Again in the library? || Cheren & Barry
The blondâs hand twitched, trying to come up with something to write âNo, Iâm not!â Barry stared at the paper, hoping that somehow words would appear just by looking at it. He read over what was already written. Something about Dark Pokemon, and their strengths and weaknesses. He had started to talk about their behavior, before his mind went completely blank. Barry tried to find a Pokemon he could use as an example, but apparently, his brain had decided to fill itself with the voice of the announcer of the Battle Tower. That annoying man who always stated the obvious and made Barry want to bang his head against a wall. Woops! Looks like the blond trainer is having some trouble! I wonder what will be his next move? Will he be able to beat his opponent?
Running a hand through his hair, Barry continued to glare at his essay, cursing his teacher for making him go through this. He looked around the room, his gaze falling on the computer in a corner. He could just go and find an article, rewrite it in his words and problem solved! By the looks of it, our hero has found an opening! Now, will he take it? Or will he choose the hard but honest way?
Great. Now the announcer decided to act like a conscience and remind him that if he were to be caught, heâd get detention and probably fail the subject for good. But Barry couldnât think of a better option. Now, he just had one problem, Cheren was still next to him.
Cheren cursed himself for being a bit too observant as he noticed Barry eyeing the computer. He was well aware of the consequences of whatever Barry was thinking.  Now he could just pretend he never saw. But, to Cheren, resorting to something like cheating for an article that simple, simply made no sense at all. And thus, for the umpteenth time, Cheren sighed.
"You're really hopeless aren't you?" said Cheren, shifting his spectacles a bit higher, "Gimme that book." he said, taking the book and flipping through the pages, coming to the page he wanted, "What don't you get in this? Just ask me your queries already. I will not watch someone marching towards a detention just because of a stupid article."Â
