I want to be this beautiful in advanced age.
An actual poster from McCarthy era in the 1950’s when artists, writers, poets, and musicians were jailed for promoting social justice and free expression.
Some birds are not meant to be caged, that’s all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure.

Brooklyn, Thrifing & Great Eats.
Today, I enjoyed Brooklyn New York. Found myself in a few real cool thrift shops, first one was Monk at 496 Driggs avenue. Brooklyn NY. The vibe is totally funky, treasures are everywhere, it's the type of clothes that are consignment, hip, and not overly vintage, at a reasonable price. I got 2 dresses and a skirt for $35.00. Directly next door was Junk, at 567 Driggs Avenue Brooklyn, Ny. The entrance was fascinating with a mixture of antique dolls, random framed art for $10.00, before you know it you are in an underground antique basement. There are antique desks with old grade school chairs, mixed with records, glassware, postcards, and many random novelties. This is the place you can find yourself getting lost in exploring through the dusty piles of antiques. I bought a vintage scale for $29.99 which totally functions perfectly. Just in case you don't see the dozens of random signs on the walls and around the cashier, DO NOT TRY TO HAGGLE with them. They despise it, everything has a price on it, and that's final. Let's get to the food, Cafe Mogador at 133 Wythe Ave. Brooklyn, Ny 718-486-9222 is Moroccan style cuisine, from the outside it's super cute, they have a small balcony style patio with room for 2 tables that overlooks the sidewalk for premium Willliamsburg people watching experience. Started off with the appetizer of Cucumber yogurt, and hummus along with a side of perfectly toasted pita flat bread, soft, warm, and fresh. My boyfriend had he grilled chicken skewers with basmati rice that also came with a side of delicious cucumber yogurt sauce, it's addicting and healthy! I had the Lamb Tagines which is pronounced tah-gene. The sever says it's a joke in the restaurant on how many times peopl butcher the name. The Lamb tagine is long simmered lamb shank stew with a traditional blend of herbs and spices, I got it with a side of cous cous. Meat falls right off the bone, an explosion of favors inside your mouth. We also had 2 whiskey drinks and our bill ended up being $75.00 not including tip, but totally reasonable for New York, the chefs really know what they're doing over there, the attention to detail on each plate, whether simple or intricate is what makes it so good. Off to bed, in a food and drink coma.
Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.
