Here let's make it comparable: Sam walks in and sees a monster that he has no reason to care about about to kill his brother so he shoots her, but the monster is actually a lot more resilient than he expected and easily survives. She gets angry, but leaves Sam and Dean alive and goes off into the world herself. Sam and Dean go after her and Dean discovers that she never actually meant any harm to anyone. Despite this, Sam decides he still wants to kill her and spends the next several weeks telling her that she's an evil monster and he's gonna find a way to kill her no matter what. Only Dean consistently shows empathy to-- Sorry this is getting ridiculous isn't it.

#sam killing emma and dean shooting jack are the only remotely comparable parts of this #and dean shooting jack isn't even close to the worst thing he did. if anything it was just an indicator that he was acting emotionally #no shit shooting the devil's son wasn't gonna kill him #thats why its so ridiculous to me when people say that DEAN was the one acting rationally in the beginning of season 13 #dean wanted REVENGE. he was using jack as a punching bag after losing mary and cas and you look ridiculous if you try to deny that #🌸

So Dean got his GED? What did he do that for? Was he thinking about going into academia? Getting a job? Honestly pretty selfish of him to even think about abandoning his family for alternate paths in life.

ive talked about this before but it's kind of crazy that bobby treats sam's psychosis as an extension of dean's issues rather than something sam is actively experiencing

#frustratingly accurate portrayal of how people will just treat younger siblings like extensions of their older siblings

And the other thing is...it's wild to me when people post script or episode screencaps of a character saying a thing to prove something when there is also canonical dialogue of them saying the opposite thing. Especially for a show where every character is epically repressed and a known liar.

#canonically dean did see sam as a freak..it makes no sense to try to prove otherwise with like season 1 dialogue #when dean is still lying to himself about how he feels about sams powers at that point #we literally see the evolution of how he treats any aberrant behavior from sam #and he finally graduates to just calling sam cuckoo bananas in season 7 #buut you know he also said if you're a freak im also a freak once so i guess anything after that doesnt count #spn #sam winchester #dean winchester #🌸
