He was always whining about how he didn’t have a son. Okay, I get it he was a king and he needed an heir. But when Aegon was born, he still didn’t change his mind, all because he felt guilty about the wife he sacrificed himself. Even though he witnessed himself how they refused Rhaenys a woman and named him as heir, he seriously thought that they would have just accepted Rhaenyra just because he said so?

And Let’s be real here he didn’t exactly choose Rhaenyra he rejected Daemon. And then she goes and marries her uncle the man Viserys didn’t want on the throne, which was the whole reason she was named heir in the first place

On top of that, Rhaenyra produces bastards. And I really don’t get this argument that, Oh, Rhaenyra had no choice because Laenor was gay. Before marrying him, she had every opportunity to choose whoever she wanted, but she refused.

What was even the point of the marriage between him and Alicent? To have a spare? Okay, but then again, he knew how they refused Rhaenys. If you wanted your daughter on the throne that much, then at least don’t remarry and don’t produce other children, YOU DUMB CUNT

I never understood why some people were comparing Aerion to Joffrey. They are very different characters, in my opinion. Yes, Aerion is a monster, but he isn’t like Joffrey. And let’s be real here Joffrey wouldn’t even fight on his own. Even if he did, he would start crying and begging immediately lmao

Aerion can actually fight. He was pretty good at it And when people are saying that, oh, he demanded a trial of seven because, you know, he was afraid of Duncan, I don’t get that either. I don’t think that’s true at all. I think he only demanded a trial of seven because he thought Duncan wouldn’t get anyone to fight for him.

As I said before, I’m not going to waste my time and energy on people like that it’s not worth it, and I don’t care anymore.

I just find it funny that they AGAIN started, reposted something of mine, and said that the fact that I wanted to read the fanfic where Aerion wasn’t out of character means that I’m disgusting or something. I don’t remember the exact words, and then I was blocked by the person, so I think I’m safe now LMAO

To your point about moral policing, people also do it to sound intelligent, enlightened and above all others, when in reality they sound childish, like a kid that is trying to have a conversation with adults about a topic but clearly is not mature enough to fully engage in it yet. It's a child pretending to be mature when in reality it is painfully clear they do not understand anything besides the surface level analysis of any content and make constant reductive statements. Also, as someone who is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and abuse in general, them simplifying complex abuse in this manner is fucking insulting and feels like they are using a very real trauma many experience to prove that "oh I am better than you all because I see this FICTIONAL character who in canon did horrible things but not THIS ONE SPECIFIC thing and I know he is bad and you don't".

We all know aerion has sociopathic traits, is dangerous but what mainly defines him is that he is a spoiled brat who was never taught limits or consequences. he often sees something that it is rational for him and his family to take offense to (i.e., the puppet show, yes I know it is a famous Westeros tale) but his reaction is excessive. he has gone unchecked most of his life. egg probably did some regular little brother nonsense and aerion went on to fully fucking terrorize him in his sleep over it. fucked up. horrible. traumatizing. but he did not fucking sexually abuse his brother nor any of his sisters that we know of.

Again, they all are trying to sound so intelligent but you sound like children who lacks critical thinking skills and the ability to actually analyze text, characters and themes. In case you haven't notice, all the fucking Targaryen's are bad people to varying levels, even the so called great Jaehaerys the Concillator or Baelor the Blessed. That's the point of this specific family.

Ohh, that’s a really good point, and I totally agree! I hadn’t thought about it that way. From now on, I think I’ll just avoid engaging with people like that because it seems there’s really no point in doing so. They can’t even separate fiction from reality. In general, I have really bad anxiety, and I’m just here to enjoy things, so I think it’s better for me not to engage.

also There’s nothing that indicates in canon that Aerion likes literal children, and no, what he did to Egg isn’t an indication of that.

He smiled at the girl because he saw how scared she was of him and hiding from him, and he enjoys being feared. That’s it.

Today I’ve seen so many comments about Aerion and his fans, and I really need to say this because some people in this fandom are beyond annoying. Why are you so bothered by the fact that others like Aerion’s character?

“Do you know what he did to Egg?”

Yes. I know. I knew before the show, and quite frankly, I don’t care. No, I’m not saying what he did was right. I’m not doing the whole “oh my sweet Aerion, I can fix you” thing, and I’m not saying he can do no wrong. What he did was disgusting.

And yet I still like his character.

Not because a hot actor plays him, but because I happen to enjoy sadistic, dark characters. That’s it.

I can enjoy them as characters. Can you all just stop moaning already? Maybe move on, talk about the characters you like, and stop shaming people for liking fictional characters, writing about them, or making fan edits.

Why don’t you bring this same energy to real-life issues? This is getting ridiculous. People can’t even make fan edits without others whining in the comments. It’s exhausting.

And one more thing I really hope none of you are sending death threats to the actor. The way some of you react to people liking a fictional character is already unhinged enough. At the very least, learn to separate the actor from the character.

Can someone please write a fanfic where Aerion isn’t out of character? I’m genuinely begging at this point. Every time I try to search something about him, he’s written as this sweet, loving husband, and that’s just not canon Aerion at all.

No, he wouldn’t be soft. He wouldn’t even know how to love someone in a healthy way. He would be toxic, manipulative, and cold. I don’t even think he’s capable of love in canon. But hypothetically, if he did love someone, it wouldn’t really be love. It would be twisted. He would manipulate them, emotionally abuse them, and use them for his own gain.

I would genuinely love to read a fanfic about him, but the only thing that reminds me it’s supposed to be Aerion is Finn Bennett’s face claim. lol The way some people write him, he isn’t even the same character anymore. He feels like someone completely different.

And I know fanfic is meant to be different, and people can portray characters however they want. I’m not shaming anyone for writing fanfic, enjoying ships, or liking certain portrayals. I truly think people should enjoy whatever they want. But it just isn’t Aerion’s character anymore, you know?

I just want, for once, to read a fanfic where he’s actually written in character.
