What I did in the Brighton Fringe Festival
LATEST NEWS: Developing a solo show
I have been willing to develop my own solo show for quite some time now. I have worked on several solo short sketches already. I have been lucky to meet a team, BD Productions, who have been willing to co-create it. I have secured a residency with the Malborough Theatre in Brighton and I am an artist resident of Fingers In The Pie. I will be performing a work in progress show throughout the research and development phase as audience is a central aspect of my show. However I won't be able to do all this without additional support. I am asking for support from the Art council to develop this new solo work, the culmination of years's work growing my practice as a clown and physical performer. I need indeed additional funds to advance my skills as a solo performer with a clear distinctive style. I also need to explore the themes of body images and perceived "female body". If you are interested in supporting me or know any schemes that would be able to do, please contact me on [email protected]
Christmas comes but once a year. And for that we can only thank God. For if he had came more than once in a creation...well, the world would be full of messiahs; pottering about idly on council estates. They'd sell you knocked off goods from the back of their van to give to your loved ones to celebrate the birthday of one of their half-brothers, which happens tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day and the day after that for-evermore. And you shall revel in joy at the miracle of the many
Christ’s births; as if you don’t their Dad will judge you in the next life. And if that doesn’t inconvenience you enough, in the meantime the young Christ’s will steal your hubcaps and let your tires down. But fortunately God was responsible and so, for one night only, The Happy Clap Trap will celebrate Christmas with the nativity laid bare for all to bask in. Come and witness the sparkling, spangling spectacle on the 19th December at the Marlborough. Tickets available http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/296323. Book early for a Merry Christmas!

Think you know puppetry? Think again.
Touched Theatre presents Brighton's first regular programme of home-grown puppetry talent: PUNCHED.
Our third Punched will be on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd November, back for another helping of mad marionettes, glorious glove puppets and the animation of objects that should probably be left alone.
Featuring brand new work from Annie Brooks (Colossal Crumbs), a sneak preview of Grist to the Mill's new production The Spithead and the Nore (2nd only) and fresh treats from Daisy Jordan, Matt Rudkin, Foz Foster and Marion Deprez, plus special guests, join us for Punched's harvest festival.
Promises to be as subversive and explosive as a gunpowder plotter. All treats no tricks!
'Our host Miranda, the rough-voiced drag puppet "with no strings attached", pointed out most of these works were brand new - so there would be no refunds. Not that anyone would want one with the rich pickings on offer.' - The Argus
Thurs 1st and Fri 2nd November at 8pm at the Nightingale Theatre, Brighton.
Tickets from Brown Paper Tickets or at the door on the night, although be warned we have previously sold out!
We're looking forward to seeing you at the Nightingale Theatre this autumn!
"The brilliant French performance artist Marion Deprez (...) mixed clowning with a performance about giving birth – and only got into a minor scrape when she persuaded diners at a restaurant table to help her deliver her baby (an Olympic mascot doll painted red), quite literally in the middle of their lunch."
