Progress on my dragon.
Promised myself to finish drawings. They’ve become too ‘precious’ and I’ve frozen on several. Here’s me releasing my anxiety and painting, regardless of me possibly hating it later.
My long suffering sketchbook that is nearing the end of its long life at my side.
Been away for a while, but I have not been lacking in projects. Here’s a smattering of them from drawing/painting in ArtRage to knitting to potting to getting my garden ready by starting seeds indoors for the very first time.
Doing a little Christmas knitting. Pattern is my own design and planning on placing it on Ravelry once I’ve made sure it’s written clearly. If you’re up for doing a test knit, let me know. I don’t have all the pictures in the PDF yet, but the pattern is written.
I’ve been remiss and this in the only Halloween decoration I’ve made this year.
This book was brutal to read, not that it was badly written. On the contrary, I loved these boys, and boys they were – at first. Remarque captured the grind, the loss of normality, acceptance…
Have you read All Quiet on the Western Front?
“The darkness had been sly, making its way through ignored shadows until it was everywhere we looked, everywhere we lived, leaving little chance of escape without sacrifice.”
Spent yesterday at the beach recharging my over-taxed batteries. I spent part of the day wondering why it had taken so long to get back there.
Harley by Jenny Williams
Oh I need this...
Haven’t been around as much as I’d like. Along with perfecting a piece for a book that should be out early next year, I’ve also been having the most amazing Christmas. My husband bought me a Harley, so my days have been filled with the normal Christmas fare, my job at the non-profit, and learning to ride - for the first time ever I might add, I’ve never been the one with my hand on the clutch - and yes, I am totally still knitting my heart out. Oh, and I finally got my sleeve done!
My next tattoo (though it needs some cleaning up).
Working on the Basic Raglan Jacket from Knit Picks. Loving the hem treatment.
Sometimes I think I breathe easier, think clearer, underwater. When everything around me gets too much I dream of running into the waves and losing myself in the cold, dark, rushing blue. Join a new world as mysterious as the stars.
But I live in the middle of a city, with smog in my lungs a dirt to surround me for miles. I escape into things made by my hands, and just wish the waves would take me away. (Argonauth)
This is such a beautiful pattern!
