Wow... Why didn't I pick up Hawkeye sooner?
AE is gonna be the death of me
I've been trying to get into AE because I want to expand my skills on the competitive fgc scene, but I'm not used to links at all... Like at all. I've been practicing non stop for the past couple hours and last night to get a four-hit combo down pat with Oni. I can do it most of the time, but as soon as I get excited at the fact that I can do it, and I think about expanding it with a special move at the end, I can't seem to do the initial combo anymore. Man, fuck links are unforgiving.
Any tips on how to get used to links?
Wait... holy shit... EVO'S TOMORROW :DDDDDD

You have lost.
Guts II Turbo Breakdown + Arcade Stick???
So I basically got wrecked the first two games of UMvC3, because I was an idiot. Not because my play sense was poor or not up to snuff, but because I was the unluckiest person ever who brought a ps3 pad to a tournament that apparently only used xbox 360's. I had to borrow a pad from someone else, and expected it to be no different. I'm always preaching that it wouldn't be any different with how the controls are between the two controllers (which it isn't, it's pretty easy to get used to) but the combos for some reason felt different for me to perform. Perhaps it was the first-tournament jitters, but whatever, too late now. I should've done a button check before my first match, then maybe I wouldn't have dropped my combos as much. Not to mention, after I lost the first set, my opponent was all like "My only advice is that your team isn't cheap enough, you gotta throw in a Vergil or Doom in there." And my response: "A true warrior is the samurai, not the sword." :3
I did meet this cool dude, though. Dameon B or something along those lines. Pretty cool guy, and we had some close matches (even though I lost the set 3-1). If I could, I would literally go to every tournament ever because they are so hype, good gosh.
All in all, great time, and I'll definitely be doing it again. Though I did have one question in my head after the match: "Should I switch to stick?" After that whole fiasco of finding me a pad and all that, I felt like just using a stick would be so much easier for competitive play. I'm aware that it takes a lot of getting used to, but I'm willing to put the effort in.
So what do you guys think? Should I try learning a stick?
