If I hear back about the job I've been interviewing for, I begin June 1. I will not find out about my disability support application until around June 17. I was rejected for emergency assistance due to not currently having an income.

I live with chronic illness and disability and I am asking for help to make it to next month. $1200 CAD will help me secure rent, transportation, medicine, and other essentials.

im severely chronically ill, like cant stay out of the hospital longer than a few days chronically ill, and housing instability is not helping. currently living in a shed at my abusive moms house. its not insulated yet. im not allowed to use her fridge and there's no microwave. im locked out of the house at night. i don't have an actual mattress or bedframe which makes me even more of a fall risk

im trying so hard to get thru all of this and i dont mean to be a bother but i just. need help. and im out of options, i dont have anywhere else to go. im supposed to get a big surgery in 2026 and have to stay in this state for a year after.

the government shutdown/gutting of services in the Greater Philadelphia Area/Delaware Valley has literally diminished my quality of life and has hindered everyone in my immediate vicinity from being able to find resources because we all feel so incredibly hopeless and tired. Come this week if this extortion plan by the government is not settled we are going to be having a Very Bad Time.

please, if you at blessed enough to not depend on government services, give what you can spare. one can find themselves in this position pretty unexpectedly.

Okay, so…. long time no see. I haven’t posted on here in a while because life has been wild lately. I need y’all to share this around though because it’s very urgent. My friend Chipo is a dance historian + artist from TX/Louisiana and they were recently invited to dance at a performance hall in NYC.

Unfortunately, the event got canceled on very short notice, which has turned into a waste of time and money for them. This ultimately has led to her falling short on some funds to get back home to New Orleans - she’s tried reaching out to fellow dancers in the city to collab with to possibly recoup funds, but to no avail.

hey, if you're a usamerican getting the news, not knowing what to do, this is really really really good time to get acquainted with the national council on independent living, the independent living movement, and your local centers for independent living.

independent living centers provide services and support by disabled people for disabled people and can help with: navigating systems, self-advocacy, and accessing services, among many other things. in their truest form, CILs function not in the model of state agencies, but as a form of structured in-community mutual aid. my local CIL provides services like counseling, advocacy, grants to cover some home needs, and meals on wheels for disabled adults under sixty-five. CILs can't fill all the gaps in services we have in this country, but they do important work to keep people alive. if you need help, your local center for independent living may be able to help. if you can give help, your local center for independent living can definitely use your help!!!!!
