So much happened since this photo was taken! This was a farewell for @instamanda_ before she ran away to Sweden... Now Mum has managed to raise one responsible child and mother (but at least I haven’t shaved my head. Yet). Thank you both for being loving, caring, sometimes tough but always tender, mums. @bridgetwyatt5197 ... It’s because of you, that you have two opinionated, determined women to contend with. Sorry we don’t always make it easy 😂 But thank you for encouraging us to work hard, be independent, get educated and be able to look after ourselves; so we’re capable of looking after others.

Suicide is the LEADING cause of death for AUSTRALIANS between 15-44yo. Men are three times more likely to suicide than women. Although women are more likely than men to be diagnosed with depression and anxiety; we can say by the suicide rate that this doesn’t mean men are less likely to suffer. And while we are seeing much more talk around anxiety and depression, they remain misunderstood by many. It’s even worse with less common psychiatric issues. . @adonisathleticscastlehill put on an amazing fundraiser today for @beyondblueofficial . It’s great to see a gym speaking about these issues; raising awareness and raising money to help with the treatment of these diseases. . People think of gyms, especially strength facilities like @adonisathletics , as ‘blokey’ or filled with ‘bros’. Talking about feelings isn’t something that is ‘meant’ to happen. But with communities like Adonis, where the other members might get to see each other more than their actual family and friends, the community they provide can notice someone in need, and offer support. Kudos to @willz_prime and @carlito5_waay for creating a supportive space where mental illness is in the open and nothing to be ashamed of. The young men of Australia need spaces where they don’t feel alone and know it’s ok to talk. (at Adonis Athletics Castle Hill 24:7)
