🎀 — Tell me a fact about them

She really likes fish. Both to look at and to eat. They aren't very easy to come by though so she tries to make the most out of it when she can.

⚔️ — What would they fight for?

She would fight for the safety of her village and the people in it- she can't stand herself or others being put down or put in danger. The pangolin lady took her in when she was young and defenseless, so she wants to make sure that other people can feel safe too. She also places a high value on freedom.

🧸 — How they comfort someone they love

Ohhhh boy she is quite averse to getting close to people so this would be difficult for her... Honestly, she's not really close to anyone in particular? She would try to stick to her usual bit of leaving helpful things around the person rather than being directly comforting, but if it's a child she's willing to do hugs or pats or something. It's just really stiff. Very rarely will she give verbal encouragement/comfort, but it would have to be a pretty dire situation to draw that out of her. But, if she did get really close to someone, she would try really hard to pull out as many stops as she reasonably could. Even if her skill in that is super eroded.

💗 — Someone they care about deeply

His friend Synthis! They've been close friends since they were lil' baby grubs. She understands him very well and handles his difficulty with grace. She does push him outside his comfort zone sometimes, but it's purely out of a desire to help him (not to just Fix him) and she knows when to back off. Vesper appreciates it a lot, and he isn't sure where he'd be now if she hadn't been around. They bike around together sometimes and have a common interest in nature.

🧸 — How they comfort someone they love

He isn't very good at pep talks (at least in the usual way) but he is sure to be there with the person. He's a good shoulder to cry on and a good listener, and will try to help the person in more quiet ways.

🔥 — Something they’re passionate about

Vesper really likes different types of DnB music- breakcore, jungle, that sort of thing. It's really good for biking, night biking in particular.

He is also quite passionate about the time between midnight and sunrise. Every once in a while he makes a point to go out at that time, chasing after the fleeting feeling of a dreamlike elation. He feels like anything can happen.

☕ — A small everyday detail about them

Widget likes music and singing, even though it's (understandably) an interest that borrowers would probably be safer avoiding. She learned a lot of hymns and other tunes from growing up in a church, and sings or hums whenever she has the opportunity. She's a sensible person and pays enough attention to her surroundings that she doesn't really endanger herself with it, but it gets a little agonizing when she can't for a while.

She is the golden child of her parents and became a master early due to her diligence. Because of her intense work ethic she has very few friends, her closest being Rhyin who her family does not approve of. Vinni and Rhyin have a doomed young lovers type of story, always find each other but never getting to stay.

Vesper propaganda

Here's Vesper with his motorcycle! A sport touring motorcycle specifically. He likes to bike around for the sake and thrill of it, but it also gives him a sense of independence that he never got from his wings.

He psyched himself out of learning to use them while he was growing up, so they're not as strong as they should be. He gets some grief about it, naturally. It's just.... hard to work up the drive to start trying, especially with his predisposition about the future.

Like here he is! Graduated and in his early 20's and everything! But everyone else his age seems to have gotten a memo that he didn't...? Why is it so easy for others to slip into adulthood and a life of their own? It just doesn't come naturally to him. He tries, but it seems that he's missing something that everyone else has- a drive.

So he hopes that one day he, too, will "get it". That it'll finally click. But until then he'll keep going, he supposes. God has a plan for everyone. Maybe, eventually, he can get out of this storm.

A homeless scavenger playing part-time hero, Erin the hyena tries to keep her small desert town safe from danger as best as she can- preferably unnoticed. People do notice, unavoidably, and try to hail her down, but she only responds with too-wide grins and uncomfortable stares. She wouldn’t want anyone to try getting close to her… She has let that happen before, and would do almost anything to keep that from happening again.

Faolan [The Miyoré Schism @thedailyvio]

Faolan is a timid young man training to become a scribe. Part of his duties as a Sha'li is that he must watch over the sacred sword, Miyoré, in wait to guide the one chosen to wield it.

When he comes into contact with the sword, it activates, falling from its pedestal and unable to be returned. In a panic, Faolan brings it to the elders who determine God must want Miyoré brought to the people instead of waiting for one to show up. They assign him the holy task of finding who Miyoré will activate for.

Erin propaganda

Left alone in an unfamiliar town at a young age with nothing but the clothes on her back, Erin somehow managed to survive on the streets- that is, until she started stealing. She inevitably got caught, and was about to get punished for it until an elderly pangolin woman stepped in, paying off whatever was stolen with what little she had. She took Erin in, though they were both homeless, and taught her how to survive, forage, and scavenge, as well as instilling in her a strong sense of right and wrong.

About three years after they met, the old woman died, devastating Erin. She set her mind to try to look out for others the way the old woman looked out for her, but resolved to not let herself form bonds. She never wanted to feel that deep sense of loss again.

Now at the edge of her teen years, she patrols the town, acting as their good-hearted homeless vigilante. She keeps track of everyone as best she can, especially the other homeless people. She tries to instill a sense of right and wrong in them as well, especially the kids. She has to be a little tough sometimes, to keep them on the right track.

Nonetheless, she takes the time to teach others efficient ways to scavenge and survive, as well as protecting them from threats with her signature staff. Whether it's hunger, harm, or the weather, Erin does her best to look out for her community..... without getting too close. As much as it hurts, she's more afraid of loss than she is of loneliness. She will learn one day that no man is an island, though.

She's more well-adjusted than Vesper is. Has an outgoing and spunky personality. Goes to college and plans to become an ecologist/conservationist of some sort, or a park ranger
