lilia → fletcher
a joint between his lips, baseball cap secured deep on his head as to keep shaggy hair out of his face, fletch soared down the curb on his long board. it wasn’t his preferred mode of transportation but it was the best one to take while you were smoking a little of that good mary jane instead of studying. focus was on his momentum and keeping the j lit instead of his surroundings. good thing he looked up before it was too late. fletch pushed the long board into the grass and jumped off of it so it wouldn’t crash, tripping and falling anyway. “fuck!” he cursed, submitting to the cement and letting himself lay back on it. hat in the street, his longboard rolling into a tree, fletcher lifted up the joint that had been saved. “nailed it, bitches!”
lilia had not expected to see the male come flying down the street & she very narrowly avoided colliding with him. there was an audible thud as his body hit the ground. she immediately ran over to him & knelt on the ground beside him. “ fuck, are you alright ? ” her brows furrowed with worry as she began inspecting him, though the dull light from the street lamp flickering above them offered little aid. as he lifted up the joint & called out, she exhaled deeply, sitting back on her heels as she rolled her eyes at him. “ of course you’re fine. ” she dismissed him, pushing herself up to her feet. she held her hand out to him, “ come on, daredevil, up you go. ”
lilia → jude
❝ huh ? ❞ his voice was low, almost inaudible as he responded. jude hadn’t been following lilia on purpose. in fact, he hadn’t even noticed she was in front of him. after spending hours in the library studying himself, his eyes were bloodshot, and his body was tired. earbud in one ear, using the music as motivation to keep himself awake and moving forward. ❝ fuck , lil. ❞ he started, stepping into the light so she could better see him, ❝ we live in the same place. calm down. ❞ he couldn’t help but laugh. not because he found the situation particularly funny, but more so because she thought it wasn’t.
annoyance coursed through her when jude of all people stepped into the light. “ that doesn’t mean anything. you were still creeping around like a stalker. ” she said, defiantly crossing her arms over her chest & diverting her eyes from his. of course she knew that she was wrong & it was only her paranoia that held the blame, but she would never admit that. with a huff, she turned around & began stomping off back towards campus.
lilia → leo
Ȩ̷̢̭̦̦̘̅͋̈́̄͝N̵̦̜̒̾Ç̶̬͍̓̀Ŗ̴̛͇̼̬̭̯͋̾̈́̕͘Ý̷̤̮̣̲̉̽P̷̭̪̬̗͇̯̱̐̂̾T̸͓̻̯͕͊̓͜E̸̪͇̽̓̃D̶̛̮̲͎͍͉͚͕̎͋̾̚͘ ̸͔̹͉̹̝́͊͐̈͑̇ͅT̸̟͙͔͉͎͂̍͆Õ̴̳͍͇̆̈̊͜:̷̮̟́͆ @chiicxgo
“I NEVER UNDERSTOOD SUPPORT. ARE YOU GUYS LIKE THE FIELD OPS’ EYES?” a genuine question, to cover up the awkward silence. his nerves got the best of him, and despite his comfort in silence, it was an academy. leo at least had to attempt to make friends. “I GUESS ANALYSIS INTAKE THE INFORMATION, AND YOU GIVE THE INFORMATION TO THE FIELD OPS?”
lilia usually kept quiet until other people talked to her. she welcomed the other’s break in the silence. “ pretty much, i’d say. analysis usually gets the big ticket information --- witnesses, escape routes, all the juicy stuff before a mission starts. support is there for if something goes wrong last minute, when it isn’t feasible to relay the information to analysis & back again. ”
lilia → caius
the lad was on his way back to the dormitories after a peaceful run beneath the clear, starry sky. he always preferred running during the night — perhaps it had to do with less people moving about, but he never put much thought into it. the last stretch was his cool down, working to catch his breath while he moved along the path slowly. there came a voice just behind him, his head immediately spinning to see the figure with her back to him — calling out to somebody in the night. taking that as his opportunity to cause a little mischief, he placed his hands on his hips and hollered to her, “ you’re not wrong! the name’s actually, caius. ” he made his way toward her, eyes scanning the area she had been previously looking. “ my guess is that it was jumpy but something’s telling me that’s just you. ”
her eyes scanned the darkness, straining to see any sign of movement in the shadows. she was just about to move on when the voice behind her gave her a scare & the brunette jumped, her heart racing. she spun on her heels to face the person surely trying to kill her via heart attack. “ what the fuck ? ” she asked, giving the other’s shoulder a not-so-gentle push. she placed her hands on her knees & bent over as she waited for her heartbeat to return to normal. “ you don’t prey on the weak like that. ” she protested, straightening her back & looking at the male dead on.
lilia → juliet
“ well, that’s good to know, “ juliet mused. she peeled herself out of the shadows she hadn’t intended to join in the first place, speeding her pace until she was close to lilia. when she’d spotted the other student, juliet thought hanging back would be safer than getting too close — but then there was no accounting for how people on this campus reacted, to anything. “ I do hate being funny when I don’t mean it. trust me, when I want you to laugh, you will. “ as an afterthought, juliet cocked her head at her. “ apologies, though, for the lack of humor. “
“ i’m sorry for being so jumpy & paranoid. it’s kind of pathetic. ” lilia laughed halfheartedly at herself, crossing her arms over her stomach. “ you field ops guys are really good at blending in. it’s not the first time i’ve gotten spooked by one of you. ” the brunette started walking again, this time at a slower, more leisurely, pace.
lilia → jace
jace had just finished up at the gym, a much needed de-stresser to clear his head, and was on his way back to his room when he saw her in the distance. lilia. he’d always noticed her and managed to spot her out in a crowd, even before they dated. there was just… something about her that stood out to him, even if she was often overlooked as being just support. breaking up didn’t change that. he contemplated approaching her, but decided against it, seeing how he was unsure where they stood now. and so, despite heading in the same direction, the male kept his distance, walking behind her and staying on the edge of the path to avoid being seen as the creepy stalker ex-boyfriend. except… it was a little too late for that, as she suddenly whipped around. hesitating briefly, he stepped out of the shadows, hands up to show he meant no harm. “i wasn’t following you,” he explained, shoving his hands into his hoodie pocket, “just… heading back to the dorms.”
relief washed over her when jace stepped from the shadows. with jace it was awkwardness that she feared. she would at least feel safe if she allowed herself to walk back to the campus with him. her heart pounded in her chest, the sound nearly deafening her. it was a mix of residual fear from thinking someone was following her & jace’s mere presence. she would usually make a point to duck out of a room the moment he entered, but in moments like this, escaping him was not an option. she pulled the sleeves of her jumper down over her hands, shifting uncomfortably between her feet. “ do you... do you want to walk with me ? ” her gaze briefly met his, her bottom lip becoming trapped between her teeth, a clear indicator of her nerves.
lilia → beverly
spending another late night in the ceramics room, a newly finished pot was held delicately by beverly as she made her way back to her dorm. it wasn’t until she spotted a familiar brunette that she decided to take a detour, following lilia until the younger girl finally noticed someone had been trailing her. “ it’s just me. ” she answered softly, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips. “ were you in the library again? ” she asked, realizing the direction lilia had been coming from. keeping pace with her companion, she glanced beside her, curious to see if her assumption had been correct.
a sigh of relief escaped the brunette’s lips as she realized it was just beverly. it could be thought that a spy in training wouldn’t fear the things that go bump in the night. she probably should have invested some more time in self defense classes given how jumpy she could get sometimes. “ i was almost ready to bring out my super amazing kung fu moves on you, y’know. ” lilia attempted to sound confident as she spoke, but she had no doubt that beverly could see right through her. “ i was not in the library. ” though her now sheepish expression said otherwise. after a pause: “ i like it there. no one bothers me. ”
lilia → lydia
“probably?” lydia repeated with a smirk that seemed to not match the crazy look in her eye. it wasn’t anything to be worried about, that look was always there and that’s how she was so brilliant with her tech work. there was just something off behind her eyes. “change that to imminent death soon after and painful at that, and you’re ready to get your medical degree.” blue eyes landed on the grapes just on the other side of her plate of eggs and toast. “mind if i steal one?”
“ is probably enough reassurance to go through the trial anyways ? i mean, how badly do you want the caffeinated drink coursing through your veins ? seems like a hell of a party to me. ” the brunette teased, popping another grape into her mouth. “ is that all ? why am i wasting my time in this program then ? i could be rolling in cash right about now. ” she pushed the plate of grapes closer to lydia with a smile. “ be my guest. ” it was a bad habit, but lilia usually opted for skipping breakfast entirely. she had always been a rushed grab of an apple on her way out the door kind of girl.
lilia → sofia
“it’s one of the analyst classes and it really does deserve a harsh reaction. if two or more people got it wrong, that’s a horrible sign for our class and they should be told as much.” sofia didn’t care if she hurt someone’s feelings by saying it, the question was easy, it was something anyone with a modicum of logic would be able to figure out within five minutes. “what field are you?” the blonde recognized the other but hardly knew anything about her. in fact, the argument could have been made she knew nothing about her at all.
“ we’re all learning, that’s the point of being here. no one in this school is one hundred percent ready to be set loose. this is the time to be making mistakes. i don’t think it’s a really big deal as you’re making it out to be. ” the brunette shrugged. of course she would have no clue how to answer any question that could be thrown at an analyst. “ i’m a support. ” it was never a surprise when people didn’t know lilia. she kept to herself most of the time.
lilia → lenny
lenny barely held back a groan at the remark, but she was probably right. there was very little chance anyone would buy that this was anything other than an unfortunate accident at the very least. “huh,” she started, musing over the idea. lenny didn’t really know much of anything about the technology students yet, but it was always worth a shot. “you really think they can fix this?” she asked with a pointed look at the shattered phone. “it’s a pretty big job.” and that was if they would even be willing to help out.
“ most of the technology students take apart a variety of things & put them together for fun. i’m confident that you can find someone who will know how to fix a phone. ” lilia gave the other a reassuring smile. she had commissioned the help of one of the technology students before to fix her laptop. a phone couldn’t be too far away from their skill set. “ in the very least, you’d have to buy a replacement screen which would be a whole lot cheaper than replacing the entire phone. ”
lilia → lenny
“well, shit,” she muttered, looking down at the shattered remains of her phone before gingerly picking it up in an attempt to not cut herself on the shards of glass. she tried to power it back on, but it seemed that it was not going to happen. it was toast, that much was clear. “so,” she mused, “think i could get away with saying this was normal wear and tear?” the question was more of a joke at her misfortune than anything else, but she was really regretting not getting that extra insurance now. and not backing it up anytime since. “what a great way to begin my first year.”
the sound of the phone hitting the ground & the screen shattering was enough to make lilia wince. “ that did not sound good. ” she stated the obvious, giving the other an empathetic look as she picked up the destroyed device. “ unfortunately, they will smell that bullshit from a mile away. ” after a moment, an idea came to mind. “ hey ! before you count this as a complete loss, why don’t you see if one of the technology students can fix it ? the instruments they create & fix for us would make this phone’s repair a cakewalk. ”
jesus
the quiet corner of the library in winchester was the brunette’s home. she tucked herself away from the world & buried herself in her studies, sometimes not retreating from the safe place until long after the sun had dipped beyond the horizon. lilia began the trek back to her dormitory, finding the night peaceful. that was until she got the feeling that someone was following her. “ hello ? ” she called out, turning around in a circle, scanning her surroundings. “ whoever this is, it isn’t funny. ”
lilia → sofia
“honestly it’s so embarrassing, i swear only morons would be tripped up by that question but seeing who’s in my classes..it makes sense none of them got it right.” sofia laughed a tad maliciously into her phone before saying goodbye and hanging up, glancing at the person closest to her who had probably overheard the conversation. “what? don’t tell me, you got it wrong? sorry about it.”
she hadn’t meant to listen in on the other’s conversations. it just couldn’t be helped, she had been sitting in too close of proximity. lilia felt embarrassed for the person on the receiving end of that phone call; she felt it enough that her own cheeks turned red. the redness deepened when sofia turned the conversation to her. “ uh... i don’t know what class you’re talking about. though, i am sure it was an honest mistake & didn’t deserve such a harsh reaction. ”
lilia → lydia
lydia inhaled her cup of coffee, focus completely on the liquid energy she was relying on to be a semblance of a person today. it wasn’t her fault inspiration hit often at two-thirty in the morning and somehow she was still expected to make it through classes. taking a seat in the dining hall, lydia sighed loudly, finally putting her cup down and spotting someone. “i don’t care how shitty this coffee is, i need an i.v stat.”
lilia sat at a table in the dining hall, a small plate of fruit in front of her & a sizable cup of coffee slightly off to her right. the contents of the cup an almost disgustingly uneven ratio of creamer to coffee. when she had first began drinking coffee, she thought she was a fan. she had quickly learned that she was truly a fan of the creamer. “ it’s been awhile since i’ve brushed up on medical knowledge, but i’m sure i could fake it till i made it. it probably wouldn’t end favorably for you, though. late night ? ” she questioned as she looked up at the other, popping a grape into her mouth.
