I had a whole blurb written up that Tumblr ate, so I’ll keep it short: there’s a lot more I wish I could’ve done and a lot of detail missing, but I’m happy with the animation. A lesson I’ve learned: layers, layers, layers. More of em!

This one was fun! It didn’t quite turn out as I planned, but all in all, I learned a bunch about the process. This is technically TAZ fanart, too! Two birds = one stone.
Loved this project! I had quite the struggle with the programs, as my personal tablet isn’t compatible with it, so I had no pen pressure. It made my life a little harder, but I managed, lol!
Had a lot of fun with this one! Unfortunately, I had quite the litany of issues with my tablet toward the closing of the project, but Toon Boom’s line correcting AI works fairly well and helped me through to the end.
Pictured is a character I play in one of D&D campaigns! Her name is Syen, and she’s a deaf bard! Her instrument are magic finger bells that were too small/insignificant to apply to the animation this time.
Final weight animation! There’s still a lot I want to iron out (overlapping, choppiness, etc.) but I believe it satisfies the purpose of the project! And I’m ready to animate an actual humanoid lol.
gesture sketches for a sweet little demon grandma named Babs!
A little pendulum practice with the slightest reference to one of my D&D campaigns.
Hello! I’m Madison, though I usually go by Madi or Max! (No preference.) I use any pronouns (she/he/they etc.) so refer to me however! I’m a sophomore in my second semester, and am majoring in Writing. I’m hoping to minor in Animation, which I will move to declare once I’ve found my place in this course.
I’ve been a hobby artist for as long as I can remember, drawing traditionally and even on my phone until getting my first (very, very old) Wacom tablet almost 5 years ago. It was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. I’m very much looking forward to this class! I knew I wanted to write stories for a living, and taking art classes has taught me that I want to specialize in writing for animated shows, and this course will definitely help me with that.
Here’s to a fantastic semester!
