Headcanon - Powers

Penny received Cryokinesis to show the potential she has. She shares many similarities with Prue (and P. Bowen) but they are often overshadowed by her naivety, her flakey nature, her impulsiveness and how impressionable she is. 

She is the youngest amongst all her cousins and as such, is the most childish. She feels left out amongst her cousins, who all seem to have perfect control over their powers.

Penny is anything but in control. Her ability to use her active power is temperamental at best. She tends to feel out of control in every aspect of her life. As a cupid, she has a strong desire for love and to help people find love, but without aide of empathy she believes herself to be useless in finding love for anyone. 

Cryokinesis requires control and that’s why she has it. Because in order to reach her potential as a witch and cupid, that’s what she needs to learn. 

Therefore, it is likely that her powers will be out of control for a few more years as she learns and grows. 

In order for Penny to become a powerful witch, she needs to become a powerful woman first.

“Like I said earlier, I’m not here to hurt anyone.” Cole replied as he lifted his hands in surrender, showing he meant no harm.”I think you know it takes more than one of you to vanquish me.” He added before placing his hands in his pockets.”I told you, I wanted to apologize.”

“You’ve obviously never met any of us if you think that, because I’m pretty sure Wyatt could take you out easily” she retorted quickly. “But why? What good is apologising going to do? This isn’t some sort of demon redemption loop hole where if you apologise for all your wrong doings you like get to come back fully powerful again, is it?”

“Well not that your a Halliwell, just a cupid-witch and the only people I know of who can have children like that would be your mother and father.” He answered simply.”I know they wouldn’t take it lightly if they saw me back alive, was only hoping to catch your mother here but instead I’ve found you.”

“Lucky me” she mumbled, “Look, I may not look like much” hell, she wasn’t much, “but if you try to hurt me or my family, I will vanquish you. And on that note, you can’t see my mom. She’s busy... Why do you want to see her? What’s so important?”

“Don’t play coy with me, I know a Halliwell when I, well, sense one.” Cole replied simply as he put one hand in his pocket.”Not many cupid-witches out there and I know she’s happily married. I wasn’t going to to break that up. I’m glad she’s happy. I actually came to apologize, for everything.”

“You can sense that I’m a Halliwell, really?” she asked, half distrusting, half impressed. “I don’t think an apology is really gonna cut it and I don’t think my mom would really want to see you, and I know that my Aunts would probably go crazy if they saw you... I mean, weren’t you the Source?”

“I’m not surprised you know who I am.” Cole replied as he looked at the other.”Now part cupid and a Halliwell, Phoebe then.” He moved on to her question.”I mean no harm.”

“Who says I’m a Halliwell? Maybe I’m just a cupid...” This was Cole after all, he couldn’t be trusted. She’d heard enough stories to last a lifetime. “Phoebe’s happily married now if that’s what you’re here for. With kids. Three of them actually. So there’s no point trying to break that up.”

“I’m thinking I shouldn’t have heard that.” Cole replied as he walked into the room.

“Uh---yeah probably not” she said nervously, “What are you doing here, Cole?”

“Why is it so hard to tell someone you want to jump them? I’m a cupid, it should be easy.”

“No you won’t,” Chris snorted, reaching again for the phone. “You’ll tell everyone about it. You can’t keep a secret.” He did not want Haliey to be bombarded by his nosey cousins.

“Her name is Haliey, we have a class, obviously. And that’s all you need to know.”

“I can so keep a secret!” she replied, offended by the insinuation that she couldn’t. Even though it was probably true. “If you don’t tell me I will tell all the empaths in the family and then they can like figure out your feelings or whatever and then I will find out anyway so you may as well tell me now and save some time.”

“What class do you have together? How long have you been speaking? And you still haven’t answered my question… Is she your girlfriend? Hailey and Christopher, that sounds so cute!”

Chris made a non-committal noise as he heard his cousin moving throughout the manor. It wasn’t an uncommon sight, his cousins coming over for leftovers. He was just used too it by now. Instead, Chris kept his focus on his phone, chuckling mentally at something his…whatever Hailey was, was texting. Both were at their respective homes for the spring break, so the majority of their talking was over text message. 

His focus was snapped however when Penny grasped the phone, taking it out of his hands. “Pen!” Chris cried in outrage, jumping off of his stool to snatch the phone. 

“You will do no such thing, Penelope.” The older witch snapped, reaching again for the phone, “She’s someone from school.”

“Okay firstly, calling me Penelope is not the best way to get what you want and secondly” she said, holding the phone out of her cousins reach, “I’ll only keep my mouth shut if fill me in on all the gossip.” It was a fair trade, in her opinion.

She smiled, rolling her eyes, “Someone from school? A girl from school... Who is she? How did you meet her? Is she your girlfriend? Have you kissed her? What does she look like?”

"I’m here for the leftovers from last night” Penny declared as she barged through into the kitchen of the manor.

“Where’s Aunt Piper?” she asked as she began raiding the fridge, “Actually where is everyone? Surely I’m not the only one who wanted to eat the leftover pie...”

“Earth to Chris” she tried as her cousin ignored her in favour of his phone. Rolling her eyes she snatched his phone off him, eyes widening at the sender.

“Hales... As in Hailey? That’s a girls name!” she said excitedly, “Who is she? Spill now or I tell every cupid in the family and let them play matchmaker.”
