Cool Facts- Garden lovers beware, may I introduce the African giant snail. Being both the largest snail and the most invasive, these land snails eat almost any plant they can get their mouth on. All of these snails are hermaphrodites, meaning that any two snails can hook up. A female can lay up to 200 eggs 6 times a year, an average of 6,000 eggs in her lifetime. That means that when there are two snails introduced, thousands can pop up seemingly overnight. The African giant snail carries dangerous parasites that can cause life threatening issues in people. A dedicated colony can strip a forest in a matter of days.
