Machina server waow join us waow
I'm waiting for the DLC for 3 to fully ship to update this blog with XC3 Machina, but if anyone wants to talk about the Machina -- 1 or 3. I am pspspspsing you.
So is it just me or does the silhouette for the upcoming hero to be added by the XC3 Expansion Pass in December look like some kinda mix of Linada, Egil, and Vanea?
The first DLC hero defintely looks like a Machina to me, yeah!! An XC1 Machina at that, which is really interesting given the state of the world sort of... explains why there's no much Machina-based clothing around.
If they are a Machina I'll go apeshit, I'm already so fed with Machina in this game but won't say no to more.
The golden flakes some XC3 Machina have that resemble freckles, like if u agree
Like it's hard to make out on their Affinity Chart icons but the specks of gold not part of their line separations makes me soooo. Pleading

Well folks, been playing XC3 and Valdi? Valdi is Good.
Queerphobes aren't welcome on this blog btw, also Egil is gay because Monolithsoft made him and Arglas parallel Shulk and Fiora <3
The DLC Hero is related to XC1 Machina in some way: A post
So, we got a preview of wave 2 dlc. My thoughts of that being so early when the game isn't even out yet aside... This new hero has a silhouette that screams Machina in a few places to me.
Using Linada as a point of comparison, let's look.
Long legs that jut out in places no other species in the series do.
High arched feet with heels most commonly seen on lady Machina.
Long fingers that seem to have long and sharp nails.
It's not much, but they seem to be very Machina traits rarely if ever combined on anyone else, so I think whoever this is will be Machina or at the very least enhanced by Machina technology (XC1 already has Seven call Face Core Units half-Machina, so who's to say that couldn't be applied here?)
Hope you're already for a copium post coming soon
XC3 Machina are quite toothless design-wise (tho Valdi's Yaldabaoth arm makes me lose my mind) so I'm hoping the plot can make up for it.
The idea they're clone soup babies that aren't even fully Machina does help somewhat. The potential story about loss of culture and the way that would tie into what Machina have already gone through could be amazing if done well...
Either way I will end up commissioning XC1-ized versions of the Machina I like the most after XC3 drops, I'm sure lol.
A healthy reminder
bro wtf this is Literally Available on this blog. I am not mad, just confused as to why you would post a meme Available on the platform already
So we all know there's another Machina now, because XC3 is feeding me... Since she's a hero, I hope she gives us a whip class. Why a whip?
Oh... no reason...
Well, Machina fans, we just keep winning,
Y'ALL SEEN MY NEW SON????
Machina, Societally Defensive
The Machina are like. Insanely interesting because they are the closest we get to an outright pacifist society, but they're less pacifist and more… defense and protection oriented. This is reflected in like everything about them.
They make some of the only weapons that can hurt Mechon naturally and like, sure, it's likely just for balancing purposes that they do less raw damage than normal weapons w/ enchant, but it can also be seen as a reflection of the Machina. Do what you must to defend yourself, but do not go so far as to purposefully hurt others.
There is a total of ONE monster quest that is not given a plot, and even then it's to protect the Machina Village. Same for the two Unique Monster challenge quests. Every other quest that involves killing Mechon/monsters are explicitly to protect the village/Machina or to allow a Machina to save others.
Then there's Monado Armour, one of the best defensive skills in the game and you get it from some of these "protect the village/stop the Mechon that could hurt us" quests. Because, you know, why not drive home the protective nature of the Machina even further
This seems like a cultural/societal thing to me. Protection and defense comes first for all Machina… except for Egil, maybe.
Even with Egil his offense is a form of pre-emptive defense based on like everything he says. He is doing all these things to protect his home, his world, from destruction. Meyneth Shrine, imo, even implies he wants to protect his people still. It's not until then that he sees them as having betrayed him, which to me implies he still saw them as worth fighting for/saving until then (maybe even after).
Hell, Egil goes out protecting Junks from Zanza. He goes out protecting the future Shulk and his friends could bring about, defending the wishes of Meyneth to the end.
It's just so interesting to think about the way defense/protection play into the mindset of all Machina, especially irt Egil.
My curse (knowing more about the Machina than anyone else in the fandom at this point, meaning I'll have to deep dive them in 3 to keep it up)
