Hi! I’ve seen all your asks and messages about COTG and I’m astonished by the love you’ve shown for it. Unfortunately, what happens to the game isn’t up to me. And to be honest, it never really was. I don’t know what to tell you. Some of you want to know about the game’s plot, and how it might’ve ended, but most of you wonder why it was dropped at all.

It’s been over a month since the game’s cancellation, was announced, or rather, confirmed and I still get messages and asks on my own blog everyday.

I want to reiterate that I don’t have any of the answers, and I’m sorry! I can’t answer your questions about the game’s plot, even though I’d like to, without permission from Rohie and to be honest, I’m not all that interested in asking for it. 

If you’ve ever taken the time out of your day to send me sweet things, or quietly loved something I’d written, I want you to know that I carry that with me, and that it’s forever. 

If COTG was ever a comfort to you, I hope it stays that way. 

It feels odd to thank you and apologize in the same sentence, but I’m both grateful and sorry.

Children of the Gods will no longer be worked on. I’ll be keeping up the demo for those who’d still like to play. I’m forever grateful for your endless support and passion. Writing this game and being apart of the IF community saved me as a teenager. This is a very special medium, filled to the brim with talent and creativity. If you’ve ever even thought of making your own game, here is your sign.

Hi, it’s been a while since we heard from you on the children of the gods blog, and while maybe it’s none of my business and you don’t have to answer, is everything alright?

Hey :~) I’ve recieved not a few asks abt this and I guess there’s no real reason for me not to talk abt it apart from the fact that I just haven’t felt like I had anything to say that you probably haven’t already presumed. I’m no longer part of the development of @childrenofthegods , and that’s O.K. Like many of you, I’ve loved everything abt the game for a long time. COTG was 1 of the first choice of games I ever played, when I was fifteen. I’m twenty now. It’s been years, and I’m so glad I got to be part of the process and see it through a few of its many, many iterations, even if they weren’t necessarily the last ones. That’s more than lots of people get to say about the stories they’ve loved and that have stayed with them. I have nothing but big love for the game and Rohie, only it’s peripheral now. The characters; the world; the story, I love it just like I loved it the first day that I played it, and I know that’s true for many of you! It’s enduring, and special, and nobody knows that better than me and Rohie. I can’t speak to where it’ll go, and that was true even when I was supposed to know but I can guarantee that it’ll be beautiful, because it’s always been. My only hope is to see someplace outside my head ! Bisous ⭐️🌙 .

I think the thing a lot of people miss about Aphrodite is that, while she’s the goddess of love, she’s more so the goddess of passion

Think about myths involving Aphrodite. They’re not just stories of how attractive she is (but that’s true too). She’s smart and emotional and knows how to turn a situation to suit her needs.

Aphrodite is with you when you love someone, but also when you’re so angry you can barely speak. When you’re so excited about a subject that you’re going to burst if you don’t tell someone. When you’re so happy about a new outfit that nothing can phase you.

She’s the intensity of emotion on all spectrums. And it’s wonderful.

what did that last anon mean by the DNA came solely from one parent? do the human parents/our mother’s DNA not affect a child at all?

Is the reason saxon/sage and mc/saint look so similar to one another to the point of carbon copyish due to the fact that their DNA soley came from one parent?

Exactly, hence why siblings are so rare.

So is Athena less protective or Obsessed with us, or is she more sly about it now that she’s around other gods?

You’ll be able to live through the kidnapping now since it happens much later. In the previous version it was just whispered because of the gravity of her crime, and MC was too young to remember it obviously. I think being able to actually witness it will show more of Athena’s character and motivations :)
