SUBJECT: Where Is Your Faith?
** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HERE’S SOME CHRISTIAN TRUTHS **
READ TIME: 8 Minutes & 10 Seconds
Where is your faith? What do you truly put your trust in? Is your faith in God, or is it in people, doctors, lawyers, friends, family, money, or even yourself?
Sometimes we place our faith in so many things other than God that we lose sight of where our faith truly belongs. God wants us to come to Him about everything and trust Him completely to work things out in our lives. Yet many of us are more comfortable running to people first. We seek advice from friends and family, depend fully on doctors or lawyers, and try to solve every problem on our own before ever going to God in prayer. What we fail to realize is how much weight we place on ourselves when we try to carry burdens that were meant to be given to God.
There was a story in about a man who came to Jesus Christ asking Him to bring his daughter back to life. He believed with all his heart that Jesus could heal her and raise her from the dead. That man had true faith. Today, many of us hear the stories of Jesus healing the sick, cleansing lepers, and healing the woman with the issue of blood, yet we still struggle with unbelief and little faith. So again, where is your faith? Is it in God, or is it in man?
I can honestly say that my faith rests in God. I do not place my complete trust in man because people will fail. They are imperfect and cannot do what God can do. Man cannot fulfill every need in my life, but God can. God is able to provide, heal, restore, strengthen, and carry us through every situation if we truly trust in Him.
Matthew 9:18 As Jesus was saying this, the leader of a synagogue came and knelt before him. “My daughter has just died,” he said, “but you can bring her back to life again if you just come and lay your hand on her.”
This man believed that God could heal his daughter if Jesus would simply lay His hands on her. He had that much faith. But many of us do not have faith like that. We question, we worry, and we doubt instead of fully trusting God. Sometimes we convince ourselves that God will not save us or help us, when in reality God is able to do all things if we trust in Him and believe in His power.
What many of us lack in our relationship with God is trust. God wants us to trust Him through every season of our lives, but the question is: do you truly trust Him? Do you trust Him with your life? Do you trust Him with the situation you are facing right now? Do you trust Him during the difficult seasons when everything feels uncertain?
Many of us struggle with that kind of faith. We say we believe in God, but when trials come, fear and doubt take over. Yet God loves us so much that He wants us to place our complete trust in Him. He wants us to believe that He will carry us through every situation and every dark moment. No matter what we face, God wants us to know that we are not alone and that He is always able to help us through it all.
Verse 20-21 Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe, 21 for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”
This woman believed that if she could just touch the hem of His garment, she would be healed. She knew that if she could only get close to Jesus Christ, she would be made whole. Her faith pushed her to reach for Him, even in the middle of her suffering.
How many of us reach for Christ like that today?
How many of us reach for Him in our prayer closet, in our Bible reading, throughout our day, or seek after His presence with that same kind of desperation and faith? This woman reached for Him believing that one touch could change everything. She grabbed His garment knowing in her heart, If I can just touch Him, I will be healed.
Do we still believe that today? Do we believe that if we truly reach out to Him and seek His presence, we can be made whole? Many people struggle to believe that they can be free from hurt, pain, fear, and brokenness. But the truth is that healing, peace, and restoration are found in Christ.
What we must learn is this: when we reach for Him in faith, He is able to heal us, restore us, and make us whole.
Verse 22 Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.
He turned to her and said, Your faith has made you whole. That is what happens when we truly believe in God. Our faith brings healing because we chose to trust Him. How many of us truly trust Him today?
This woman did not know exactly what would happen, but she believed with all her heart that if she could just touch His garment, she would be healed. That kind of faith moved her to reach for Jesus Christ without fear or doubt.
We must begin to trust God in the same way. We must believe that what He starts in our lives, He is faithful to complete if we continue to trust in Him. We cannot live in constant doubt, thinking that God will not provide what we need. Faith means believing that God is able, even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
Many people are hurting today physically, emotionally, and spiritually but they struggle to go to God because fear and doubt hold them back. Yet God is calling us to believe in Him, trust in His power, and have faith that He is still able to heal, restore, and make us whole.
*** Today we talked about faith in God and how important it is to truly trust in Him. We looked at the people in the stories who had faith in Jesus Christ and believed that if they could just touch Him, or if He touched them, everything would be alright. Their faith made them whole.
If you have time, go back and read The Gospel of Matthew chapter 9. It is such a blessing and a powerful reminder of what faith can do.
Many of us fall short because we do not spend enough time in the Word of God. When we read His Word, we become more aware of what God is doing in our lives. The Lord speaks to us through Scripture, through prayer, and through many different moments in our lives. But the question is are we listening?
Someone needed to hear today that faith still matters. Someone needed to be reminded that faith can make us whole. Faith is one of the biggest parts of our walk with God, and without it we can easily become discouraged and doubtful.God is speaking to someone today, reminding them that He is still there. He has not forgotten you, and if you trust Him and believe, your faith can carry you through and make you whole. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee
