07/18/26 ~ soaked

saltwater pooling at my feet

your house is warm and dry

smells like fresh laundry and cinnamon

and i am stood here, a festering stain

dragging the ocean across your carpet

there is little i can offer

my clothes too damp to act as towels

my flesh too brittle to help you clean

my money spent on bus fare to the beach

all i can do is sink further in to your carpet

i thought about you

when the sea was up to my knees

i thought about you

when it was to my shoulders

i thought about you

when it was in my lungs

i didnt mean to come back

i didnt mean to bring the ocean back

im really sorry about the mess
