record stores were considered dead now with everyone moving to streaming and downloading but chip still loved them. he had fond memories of joining his father during his appearances and signing as well as his own when he entered the business. he'd been stoked to find out there was one on the island when he first moved and made a regular trip down at least once a week. he felt so comfortable and at ease thumbing through their selections. going down the aisle he'd been eyeing the letters without paying much attention and next thing he knew he was colliding into someone. " oh gosh, i'm so sorry! let me get those for you! " he says bending down quickly to pick up the album he causes them to drop. " i should've been looking wh---- penny?! " he asks excitement clear in his voice when he spots the familiar voice. @missprouds
âhey chip!â mavis called out before jumping on the manâs back. she was a physical affection type of gal and she hoped chip was used to it by now. âchip! are you busy? can you play me a song? i have a song in my head and i canât figure out what it is. and youâre so good with music so maybe you could help me outâŚplease? unless you are super busy! then i will just go use spotify like normal.â
" oof.. " he mutters softly as mavis jumps on his back. he didn't mind it at all, in fact it was a welcome change to having security around him constantly keeping him away from people. his hands immediately move to her knees, pulling her legs to his torso to keep her in place. " mavis! i'm never too busy for you. " he says with his signature smile. he'd drop everything to spend time with mavis, his muse. " pfft, spotify has nothing on me. let me grab my guitar and then feel free to lay it on me, querida. "
mavis had yet to have many friends on the island, but she was so thankful for the ones she had. chip in particular was one of them. she had no idea who he was when they met, but once she was prompted to do some digging she was surprised to find out he was so huge. a guy like him talking to a weirdo like mavis made no sense to her, but she enjoyed his company. they were two outsiders just trying to have a good time and enjoy good music.
seeing him at poppyâs was like icing on the cake. she had been forcing conversation on people who didnât know her and now that she saw someone who didâŚ..she could finally relax a little. âchip!â she called out, running to him. âyou made it! thank ghouls! i was really hoping you would.â
Being new to an island full of people was a nerve racking experience for chip. He was alone for the first time in his life â no security, no team, no parents. He didn't know what awaited him but, it was something he needed to do for himself as lame as that sounded. It hadn't been bad though. People recognized him and that was scary but he happened to find someone who didn't know who he was at all which was refreshing. He didn't have to live up to his celebrity persona, he could be himself. He liked it.
Chip had been invited by Mavis to Poppy's dinner and had contemplated not going but he needed to step out of his box and put himself out there. How would he make friends if he didn't try? A wave of relief flushed over him when he sees Mavis. She made him feel more relaxed and comfortable. " Mavis! " He greets with a warm smile. " Of course I came! You invited me, it would have been rude if stood you up. " He points out before shrugging. " Plus, I like spending time with you so, I would've really played myself if I didn't come! "

BASICS.
chip never knew what kind of a contract he was signing back when he was a kid, he just knew heâd be making music which was something he wanted to do like his father and grandfather. turns out, despite his name and his connections, chip didnât have much of a say in his music, image, or how he was able to spend his earnings.
the older chip got the more frustrated he grew. he couldnât be himself. he couldnât a lot of the things he wanted. he couldnât even run his own social media. despite having all the fame and fortune, he feels nothing but isolated from the world.
chip is extremely sheltered. he doesnât go anywhere without a handler to keep him in line and out of trouble. for a twenty-three-year-old celebrity, heâs rarely partied. heâs never had a relationship that wasnât arranged by his people. he just wants to be normal.
with his contract ending on his twenty-third birthday, chips held out on signing a new one. he doesnât know if he wants to continue on with his original company. he wants to make his own music and do things on his own terms. heâs decided a break can help him see things more clearly.
he sees corona as an opportunity to start over and discover himself. chip hopes he can learn who he is and how to just function as a normal person. plus, it wouldnât hurt if he could write some music and find his own sound as well.
