saw your story on tiktok where you said good and bad are not real things. i agree, but i would like to hear your thought process behind it. why do you believe good and bad are not real things?
a song for your troubles.
Hello 🪰
Good and evil are concepts created by man to control the actions of his own species, without worrying about coming out in the worse position. I've come to the thought that all this morality makes no sense at all, observing nature. Society was built in a different way, with specific beliefs, so that everyone is predictable and standardized. Human beings are corrupt, "evil" by nature, and this applies to all of us, even if you try to hide it by doing good deeds or whatever else. In the end, I know everyone lies.
Animals and plants are cruel too, did you know that? It's disgusting.
I often get angry at other people because they judge me for acting in a more raw and honest way. At least I don't hide from myself. Accepting your ugliest parts is facing the truth, and you don't need to change that at all.
Thank you for sharing this song with me. I really enjoyed it.
As for me, saying that good and evil don’t exist at all is, well, absurd, roughly speaking. Because evil does exist, but you can’t say ‘this person is bad’ — evil is a person’s actions, not the person themselves. Evil is when you harm someone for no reason, but those actions can kind of be understood, though not justified. For example, raping a child — it brings pleasure only to the rapist, and even that is short-lived, but what comes after? These actions lead only to problems and lifelong trauma for that child. And what about good? ‘A good person’ as such also doesn’t exist, because someone might do good things while thinking something completely different. But good actions do exist, and they’re found in everything — even in a smile to a stranger. Good is what benefits someone else. It’s also doing good to animals and plants. Watering a blade of grass in the forest is already good, because nature should be taking care of that blade of grass, but by watering it, you speed up the process that helped it get the amount of water it needed — and that is good. So, from a certain point in my opinion, you’re right, and from another point, you’re not.
