tell me
ā a word to my lovers (via thatantisocialbitch)
Youāve grown into someone who would have protected you as a child. And that is the most powerful move you made.
āI say I donāt want to talk about it. Actually, I do, but Iām afraid of your reaction. Iām afraid youāll never see me as an equal again. Iām afraid of the pity in your eyes when you realise how screwed up I am.ā
ā Unknown (via chl-e)
āIn truth, you like the pain. You like it because you think you deserve it.ā

āHow many times have you typed āIām fine.ā With shaky fingertips and bloodshot eyes?ā

āItās like youāre too sad to cry and too tired to sleep.ā

āSuicide is stupid? You wanna know what is stupid? Hurting someone so much emotionally, that they think suicide is the only answer.ā

āI felt so much, that I started to feel nothing at all.ā

āIām not telling you to make the world better Iām just telling you to live in it. Not just to endure it, not just to suffer it, not just to pass through it, but to live in it. To look at it. To take chances. To make your own work and take pride in it."
Joan Didion
Stephanie Garber,Ā Once Upon a Broken Heart
I think it's an unrecognized practice to allow yourself to outgrow and shed versions of yourself that were more socially successful than who you want or need to be now. Not every new chapter is bigger and bolder and hotter, I think that's a very modern social media "glow up" mindset and doesn't actually have any room for what real transformation looks like. Sometimes we change exactly as we need to and it's not what anyone else was hoping for and that's part of it being important and true.
things end, people change, life goes on.
It is what it is
