FINAL PROJECT-REFLECTION-CHLOE
impromptu photo shoot outside of the classroom today
this text is very powerful and full of veracity. I like that you used a personal picture it doesn't make it nicer or prettier but it makes it more real more grounded.
Dear Photo,
Viewing flowers in Central Park. Smelling the air on a fresh spring day. Casually walking through the crowds of people in a sea of gray to reach an area full of color and life, but not people. The beauty and simplicity in a while cherry blossom are extensive for the eye to comprehend. The while petals comfort me while the green stems and grass in the background remind me of the coming season. The combination of many bright and lively colors instead of dull pastels advertise that spring has arrived and winter has left us. The beautiful life witnessed when seeing just one flower after being in a sea of grey brings unmeasurable happieness to my eyes. Spring is here.
Love,
Rosemarie
I think you’ve captured the excitement of spring perfectly with this text/picture pairing
Dear Photograph,
You are the view I see everyday when I woke up since my arrival in New York. Three months that you attract my attention every time I am thinking about everything I have in mind. My semester almost comes to the end and I will probably never see you again. I love your composition, first ground, middle ground and background. Your colors are always beautiful whatever the weather of the day or even at night with all the lights of this harlem neighborhood shinning. You help me to think, to concentrate about anything and it is a pleasure to have you and not only a house front with no view. Than you for all these things you give to me. I will, for sure, never forget you.
I like the idea and the exercise of taking a picture of a view to which you wake up every day or that you see every day.
it would be so interesting after a couple of years to have a collection of pictures. if not from moving, from vacations and such
Dear photo,
I took you in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I was so amazed when I noticed the little window on the stone wall, through which I could get a glimpse of the wonderful works behind the wall. I could not see the works clearly enough through the little window, actually, I could not even know how the complete works look like, but looking through them in a distance gave me a great sense of the march of time. I like the old feeling created by this little decoration in the museum, it makes the exhibits more textured and more weighty. Another thing I love about this little window is that it allowed me to observe how visitors response to the art works. Watching them standing in front of or going by those works make me feel how people now are connected with the artists in the old time. For me, this design is not only a window, but a bridge that joins the present and the past time together.
I love that this picture and your text literally represent the idea of having a window open to another world. As you said you couldn't see everything, but you could at the very least see potential, see what the future (and rest ) of the exhibition could bring you. I think its a pretty nice metaphor.
I simply wonder how it was like to see you from their point of you, better yet from the point of view of the art.
This is an example of my work!
Not sure of the drawing yet! It would be great if you can take an object that represents your study field!
Let’s create art, creation, and a strong message to all the girls that will pursue studies in a man’s world.

Can’t wait to do this amazing experience with you!
I love the outline idea I think it adds a little something cool to the picture.
Also, the shadow in the background also acts as another form of outline which gives a three-dimensional feel to your picture.
And moi
I love the composition of this picture.
the way the two hallways are perpendicular to another. The choice you made to not face the frame surprisingly attaches my attention more than I would have guessed. I believe this may be because one who tries to see how your position relates to the art is directly caught off guard which is refreshing: it feels like breaking the rules for the better
Dear Curiosity,
I took this photo at an art exhibition and I was totally attracted by the scene that the boy lying under the huge ball of plastic bags. You, curiosity appeared at that moment and I still remember that how strong my desire was at that time to do the same thing as that little boy. However, I did not and hide you inside my heart. My sense controlled you because I was so afraid to be judged by people with my behavior and it’s strange for an adult to lie down in a public space. However, when I saw this photo again, I can feel you appearing in my mind again. I’m hungry to know how does this art work look from that perspective? Is there anything hide in the middle of the ball? The stronger you are and the more regretful I feel. What’s the difference between a child and an adult? There’s none in front you, curiosity. That’s the moment that I rethink your power. Next time, I will not reject your attraction…
I like your story and hearing how you felt taking that picture. It is fun to feel like I am in on a story that I could have never have known about had you not shared.
That being said next time just lie down anyways I say who actually cares.
That being said, my interpretation of the picture after looking at it is that it could very well be a denunciation towards how much garbage humans produce.
Dear dancing girl,
A ballerina, a wife, a dreamer…
You are a fighter,
for freedom
How happy you are when enjoying the moment of dancing!
How beautiful you are in free air to chase for your freedom!
I like your white dress, they are free in the air, free just as your dance, as your soul.
I know you were born to be free,
even in the last second, you finally find yourself lying on the floor without your foot, dying.
Solute!
Xinqi
I just love the composition of this picture.
The dancer seems to be having a blissful time and I feel like I can almost hear the guitarist in the background.
With her blond hair and white dress flowing in the wind reminds me of Marilyn Monroe.
Do you have to be in it to understand it?
Do you really need to have a sister to know about the relationship that sisters share?
There are no right or wrong answers to these questions and so I proceed with my own thoughts— best friend or cousin sister cannot replace the bond that you share with a person that came from the same womb as yours. It’s that simple. Call it soul connection or inherent qualities.
I personally can't think of what it would be like to be a single child. Does that mean that the sibling relationship "status " within me is too strong ? does having a twin make that relationship you are talking about stronger?

I wanted to talk about yet another picture that I enjoyed at the exhibit.
I immediately found this picture aesthetically pleasing, after seeing it at the exhibition.
I decided to rack my brain to figure out what it was that may have appealed to me.
I think it's a mix of all the things it represents. There are many things to see an interpret in this picture :
It feels to me like it represents both the outside and the inside worlds.
It is also “artsy” because it represents a studio set up. Yet natural and “outdoorsy”, because the art placed in the middle of the picture is that of a man on a horse galloping through one can only guess, is a vast field.
I also believe the warmth of the studio competes with the cold of the night in the background.
The warmth is created with the yellow, orange and red tones that remind me of a campfire.
The night in the background is the freshness that completes it.
I first dismissed this picture as what I thought it was: a pretty picture of a sign behind the fog.
Then I got positively more and more drawn to the picture I couldn't and still can't explain it but I think I’ve seen this picture somewhere before.
It feels warm to me, not only because of the color of that sign or the promise of shelter it brings in an otherwise scary looking place.
No, it brings me warmth because I feel like I've seen it in my favorite movies, not the blockbusters of today but the auteur and classic films that a young aspiring filmmaker is told to look at to perfect their craft.
I want this sign to be in my movie
These are two pictures that I knew I wanted to put against or with each other to analyze and talk about.
The first thing that came to my mind was “wow, they truly show two different sides of earth, land and how it was exploited “.
And then I thought not so much...
Exploited, exploited
I believe Machu Picchu is as exploited as the land on which building after building is built
It actually made me think of a story which I saw in the news about a park in California in which a flourished field of many beautiful flowers, that had previously been the victim of the drought finally came to life. When people all flooded to the site, they trampled the flowers effectively ruining the ecosystem there as well as the site.
Many more stories alike are coming out in the news these days about paradise beaches and remote vacation spots overcome with tourists that ruin it.
Aren’t wildlife / natural landmarks such as this one overtaken too by people because of their popularity?
