Hi! How do you stay so motivated and consistent with your studying? This is something I struggle with so any tips would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi great question! This is definitely something I struggle with as well.. sometimes I feel like I'm in a rut and completely lose momentum, but I do have a few tips for staying focused.
One thing that helps me stay consistent is having a task that is a. not very time consuming and b. something I relatively enjoy doing that I do every single day. For me this reviewing my Anki deck: it (usually) doesn't take very long, and I like to do it, so it's easy to create the habit of doing it daily. (Anki does also come with the bonus threat that if I don't do it every day, the reviews will start to pile up...) Even though flashcards aren't the most effective study method, it's better than doing nothing at all on the days I don't have as much time/energy/focus.
For motivation, I don't really have good advice for studying subjects you're not super interested in to begin with (e.g. if you're a student), but if it's something you are passionate about or choosing to learn on your own, the best thing you can do to stay motivated is remember why you're studying it in the first place! In my case that might look like listening to my favorite Taiwanese artists, which usually reminds me that one of the reasons I'm studying Mandarin is because I love Taiwanese music and want to be able to sing along :D
I hope these tips are helpful!
