You’re incubating ideas. Like an egg. There’s stuff growing inside. Your ideas are collecting and culminating and melding, merging into something.

Don’t crack it open before it’s ready. Wait until you hear it tap tap tapping with its egg tooth. Then slowly help it from its shell bit by bit.

Be kind. Be gentle. We are all growing things tender and soft but capable of great power if given the time to grow and change.

I was ruminating on this a lot a few months ago, being so frustrated with feeling depleted with the interest to do the thing that usually gives me so much joy, comfort and connection. The thought I held onto was that creativity is the like the Wadden Sea. The ocean is gone and it looks like what’s left is boring, plain mud flats all the way to the horizon. But this is actually precious ground full of life and an important part of our ecosystem. So it is okay to cherish the plainness and muddiness of it. It is just part of the rhythm. The tide will be back soon again.

Somewhere calm. I usually just sit at my computer desk with some music playing to help my brain warm up!

    what if your favorite genre to write?

I don’t think I have a favorite yet? So far I’ve only written fluff, but I’d be more than happy to experiment with other genres and themes!

    do you prefer to write on paper or digitally?

I write everything digitally, but I do believe I prefer writing on paper. I think it’s just easier for me to get my thoughts together with a pencil or pen in my hand. Also i just like the look of handwriting!

    it’s the middle of the night and you suddenly wake up with an idea. what do you do?

This has actually happened to me quite a bit. I usually grab a notebook I have for this exact scenario and write it down immediately so I don’t forget!

    who is your favorite person to write about?

I don’t think I’ve written about enough people to form an opinion on this? Maybe once I’ve written more I’ll tell you ;)

   do you like making your own character, or do you usually write about real people?

I prefer writing about real people, mostly because I don’t think I’d be very good at developing a character by myself heh

Not very often? But when I do or someone gives me an idea, I work through the idea in my head until I believe it’s satisfactory, then I put it in proper words so it makes sense!

1. Music! I grew up listening to all genres of music and I can’t go a single day without blasting some sick bops!

2. Singing!! I love love looovveee to sing!! It’s honestly my biggest dream to become a singer, it makes me so happy and I see it as a form of stress relief!

3. Seeing people smile! I can’t help but smile myself whenever I see someone else doing it, especially if I was the cause for their cute lil smile!!

4. Affection!!! I don’t know why, but I’m such an affectionate person and being hugged, cuddled, pat on the head, etc. just makes me feel so warm inside!!

spends too much time deciding on which exhibits to go to and ends up visiting contemporary art first

Your back feels cold from leaning against the wall for so long. You wish you were sitting on a comfy sofa or chair instead, but they are all currently occupied. A sigh escapes you, wondering how you let yourself get dragged to another stupid party. The only person you even know here is the friend that forced you to come.

You pull out your phone to check the time and maybe find something on there to entertain you until your friend wants to leave, if he ever will. You're scrolling aimlessly on instagram, when you feel a presence beside you. You look up to see a tall man with puppy dog eyes smiling at you sheepishly.

"Hey," he gives a little wave, "um.. why are you standing here by yourself?" You shrug, "I was here with a friend, but I've been abandoned. Why do you ask?"

"Oh, my friends and I saw you alone and we wanted to know if you'd like to join me- uh- us, I mean..." You smile and nod, relieved that you'll finally have something to do (and more than happy that you get to hang out with someone as cute as this guy), "Sure, thanks!"

He smiles and takes your hand to bring you over to his friends.

"My name is Yunho by the way."

"(Y/n)." You smile.

Throughout the rest of the night, while getting to know your new friends, Yunho constantly sends you shy smiles and hearts of all sorts.

Maybe coming to this party wasn't such a bad idea after all.
