One thing that has always seemed weird to me is people insisting Sasuke and Sakura must have another child on the grounds that Sarada apparently can’t continue the family name because she’s a girl? I mean fair enough liking the idea of Sarada getting a baby sibling, baby siblings are cute, and I suppose they’re just looking for excuses to say they want a SasuSaku son, but here’s the thing…

I’ve never thought the shinobi world to follow the whole ‘wife takes husband’s name’ thing. I always thought that the way things worked in terms of surnames was more complex. There were factors in play. Maybe it was personal choice or whatever benefited both families best. Maybe it had to do with the clan standings and the individual’s standing within the clan, and if anyone else could carry that clan in the individual’s stead. Even if it turned out that they married but both kept their own last name (Minato and Kushina), the child doesn’t necessarily have the father’s surname. (Naruto being an Uzumaki, not a Namikaze.)

The way I see it, if Sarada marries someone, there’s every possibility that she and her future partner will retain the Uchiha name.

Sasuke and Naruto are rivals and Boruto and Sarada may be rivals and have parallels between them but never make the mistake of thinking that this is the case for Sakura and Hinata. Hinata is neither Sakura’s rival like Ino is nor is she as powerful as Sakura. Sakura is the main female, the kunoichi of team 7, a jonin, the strongest kunoichi and best medic and someone who was on par with Naruto and Sasuke, making a new 3 way deadlock, before the Sage powered the boys up further.
