Sun Wukong’s open mouthed grin turns into a thinly veiled smile. He stares at her, unblinking, seemingly weighing his options for a full minute before saying, “No. No, it’s—nah. No.”

A pause and then, “No.”

“Are you sure?” she asks, raising a brow.

Wukong opens his mouth then closes it. He glances at Macaque, taking in the wide-eyed and gaping mouth look of pure offense and betrayal, and says, “Ok maybe—”

In Sonic and the Secret Rings (2007), Sonic the Hedgehog falls asleep reading a copy of One Thousand and One Nights. When we see this copy later, it can be seen that the lettering within, which Sonic is obviously able to read at least somewhat fluently, is evocative of Arabic script.

In the Story Mode of Sonic Rivals (2006), another character will appear throughout each act of Meteor Base Zone to help you get past the zone's various obstacles.

Of the four main characters, Sonic is the only one who appears to actually be hacking into the base's system to bypass these obstacles, as Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver simply bypass them by force.

Sonic the Hedgehog has also had many adoptive parents:

Uncle Chuck/Sir Charles/Prof. Charles, is Seen in multiple canons, and is explicitly his Biological Uncle in two instances, but his caregiver in all four. (Because of the "No Family Members" rule for Post-SGW Archie, "Uncle Chuck" isn't biological there.) (Sonic the Hedgehog ((SATAM)) - 1993)(Archie Sonic - 1993-2017)(Sonic Underground 1999)

Sonic has has one notable adopted sibling, Miles Tails Prower, who is like or is his brother in multiple canons. Going into specifics is a post on it's own, but he's considered his brother In the Shogakukan Manga (1992), Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (1993), Archie Sonic (1993-2017), Sonic IDW (2018- Present), and the Sonic Cinematic Universe (2020-Present).

In the Sonic Cinematic Universe, it's also hinted at that Knuckles will be considered an adopted older brother, but isn't confirmed.

With all the canons, Sonic has 7 Moms (4 biological, 3 adoptive), 5 Dads (3 biological, 2 adoptive)(not including Uncle Chuck), And 4 siblings (3 biological, 1 adopted)(not yet including scu Knuckles)

Princess Elise (and by extension Sonic 2006 in general) can’t catch a break from these clickbaiting baffoons can she?

Her big crime for being #2 on the list? Bringing Sonic back to life with a kiss and getting kidnapped multiple times (wouldn’t that be classed as victim-blaming?).

Not a single word on her personality or relationship with Sonic. Hardly “Worst Girlfriend” material if you ask me.

- SonElise isn’t beastiality. Sonic is sapient enough to consent AND he’s treated as a human in the games. Whenever he interacts with humans, it’s a normal conversation like any normal being, no one brings up that fact that he’s a hedgehog unless it’s to show that he IS a hedgehog

- Had Elise had the same cartoony design as the anthros or even an anthro herself, her and Sonic’s relationship would still be pretty forced. Species have nothing to do with writing.

- Hell, if Elise had a cartoony design, then the kiss wouldn’t look so awkward anyways

- Elise had not abused or put Sonic down in any way

- Was never manipulative or displayed common traits of an abuser

- Loved Sonic for who he was, and didn’t try to change him (unlike Sonally at its worst)

- Wasn’t obsessive and tried to goad him into marrying her (unlike Amy at her worse)

- Really the only thing bad about her was that she was underdeveloped. Take her and the entire subplot surrounding her and the game would still have flaws, both in game play and story telling.

- SonElise lasted only one game and even then it was no longer canon. Unlike several actually toxic relationships in fiction that were dragged out through years and dozens of episodes, books, comics, etc, much to the audience’s duress.

Sonic and Elise just grew feelings for each other during the story (a mutal romance) and then timeline reset happened before anything could happen with them (the most that did was the revival kiss).

But seriously I try not to bother with lists like this. The bias is strong here. SonElise isn’t toxic, yet people like to rate it as the absolute worse simply because the anthroxhuman aspect or “Elise character bad”. 😑
