I'm so sick an tired of all these AI apologists being like "it's just place holders" when it's like, how about don't ship your game until the art is ready? How about don't generate images from other gacha games for said place-holders? or rip of character designs?

or, idk, if you want to drive an anime waifu around or fish in a game, play Fortnite

It really bothers me too that I have people in my life who know my stance on generative AI, who know I am a human artist who makes things with their hands, who tell me "it's a great game" and don't seem to care about the long term effects on the planet let alone the industry and people working in it.
