I just think you should sing no matter what you sound like and draw or paint no matter what it looks like
there will come a day where your bad days feel like your good days used to, and you’ll realize your good days are now better than you ever thought they could be.
you’ll notice yourself spiraling and think “I know how to handle this”.
that wave of old, bad feelings will wash over you and you’ll realize it hasn’t happened in a while, and this time you’re able to feel it and process it and let it go.
it’s hard work, but you’ll get there!
if u are scared or worried or stressed please just remember that even if you mess up super badly, doggies on the street will still tug on their owners when u walk by because they wanna say hello to u so badly
repeat after me:
even if i don’t like my body today i will take care of it
even if i don’t like myself today i will still be patient and kind with myself
even if i do not love myself i will still take care of and be kind to myself, despite not wanting to
“Struggling does not mean you’re failing. Falling apart every now and then does not mean you’re broken and can’t put yourself back together again. Not seeing a way out this very moment does not mean there isn’t one. You can do this. Please hold on.”
— one reminder a day #3 / n.j.
I think sometimes people who have mental illness (myself included) forget that the reason we may be so tired all the time, is because we’re expending our energy with internally fighting inside ourselves. We’re using up our energy to tackle anxiety, or depression, or whatever the case may be. Fighting against that, along with doing daily chores? Studying? Keeping up with life in general? It can be EXHAUSTING.
So don’t ever feel bad if you need to take a breather for a small while. Don’t feel guilty for needing to nap and replenish those energy juices. Your body is amazing in the way that it can tell us what we need. You gotta take care of yourself, so don’t for a second believe that rest and recooperation has a time restraint on it. Everyone grows at different paces, and that includes rest. So keep growing.

Help for when You’re Feeling Broken
1. Share your story with someone. Often it helps to put the sadness into words.
2. Try to detach and unplug for a while.
3. Respect your need for space, and a period of low stress.
4. Allow yourself to feel all the negative feelings.
5. Take care of your body and your physical needs.
6. Treat yourself with kindness.
7. Invest in good self care.
Recovery is hard, but I haven’t met anyone who didn’t think it was worth it.
