I Finally Shifted After 5.5 Years
Hey, everyone! I honestly never thought I would come back to the shifting community to share a success story, but here I am. I first learned about shifting in November 2020, literally only about a week before my birthday, and since that day, there has not been a single day when I have not thought about shifting or one of my DRs. This journey was not easy at all, but I can finally say that I did it. I have not really been active in the shifting community or on shifting accounts since around 2023, and I never planned on coming back. After almost six long years, though, I finally fucking shifted. I wanted to return and share my success story, especially for anyone who has been trying for years and feels like it is never going to happen. I was not sure where to share this because I do not want to connect the story to any of my actual accounts. I also do not really know whether this should be considered a shifting success story, a void-state success story, a revision success story, or an LOA success story. It is probably all of them, honestly, I don't know and I don't care to be honest.
I do not want to dwell too much on my old life because it was genuinely awful, and I do not want that to become the main focus of this post. I mostly want to explain what changed, how I shifted, and what my first day here actually felt like.
What I Changed
I revised my family to be loving, kind, supportive, and wealthy. We own several houses around the world and have private chefs, cleaners, and other household staff.
The house we mainly live in is actually one I saw and passed by when I was younger. I remember wishing that I could live there one day, and now it is the exact house my family has apparently lived in since 2020 ;) It is honestly so cute and has become the ultimate hangout house. It is large, has plenty of space, a pool, and an extra plot of land beside it, but it is not so enormous that it feels cold or empty. It still feels cozy and lived in, and it is located in an extremely safe neighborhood.
I have way more money of my own than I could ever realistically use.
In my old reality(this one), effective anti-aging was not really available yet. I think there were maybe some mouse trials and early research, but there was nothing that ordinary people could actually receive. In my better CR, CRV1 is already finished and publicly available, and I have already received it because I think aging is stupid and I intend to remain attractive forever, sorry!
I have kind and loyal friends who I genuinely love and would die for.
I am extremely confident now. Before, I hated looking at myself, avoided mirrors, barely took pictures, and hated seeing myself in photographs. Now I genuinely cannot pass a mirror without stopping to stare at myself.
I no longer care what people think of me. In my old reality, I was a huge people-pleaser. I allowed people to disrespect me, walk all over me, and treat me however they wanted because I was too afraid of being disliked. I am not like that anymore, also fuck everyone who ever took my kindness for granted and used it as a reason to abuse me.
I have insane pretty privilege. I am popular, well-liked, and people are constantly messaging me or asking me to hang out.
This is dumb and extremely specific, but I wanted a certain athlete to return to my state for a specific sport, and he literally got traded here.
I graduated from school early because what the fuck was that.
I have all of my desired degrees, licenses, qualifications, and academic achievements.
I have my desired face, desired body, dream wardrobe, dream room, desired pets, desired plushies, and basically every random thing I used to wish I had.
I have rare and aesthetically pleasing items in the games I play, including my desired Roblox/ MSP/ WZW icon.
I have all of my desired skills, including gaming, fashion, cooking, baking, drawing, painting, playing several instruments, and speaking multiple languages.
My social-media presence looks exactly how I wanted it to look.
I changed my original reality into my Waiting Room.
I never need to use shifting methods again in any reality, and I do not need formal manifestation methods to receive whatever I want.
I basically gave myself everything required for a well-rounded, peaceful, interesting, fun, and genuinely happy life.
How I Did It
Honestly, I still cannot believe the final attempt ended up being this simple. For me, the biggest change was finally getting my ADHD, anxiety, and racing thoughts under control. I had been dealing with heart problems, and my doctor told me that the amount of stress I was under was making my heart worse. I had already tried several things, so eventually I searched for ADHD and anxiety supplements on Amazon and tested a few inexpensive herbal blends until I found one that worked well for me.It was nothing rare, complicated, or expensive. It was just one of those basic supplements made with herbs and other calming ingredients.I am deliberately not naming the exact product because everyone reacts differently, especially if they have heart problems or take medication, and I do not want anyone blindly copying what I used. I tried several options before finding one that agreed with my body. It was simply something I experimented with after my doctor explained that constant stress was aggravating my heart issues. One night, I noticed after using it that my thoughts were no longer racing at their usual speed. My body felt calmer, my anxiety had softened, and for once I was not being pulled in ten different mental directions. I felt incredibly peaceful! I lay down and completely melted into my pillow. For once, I did not want to sit there worrying about my depression, my circumstances, my family, my health, or every other problem in my life. I just let all of that shit go.I put on a piano version of the Attack on Titan Season 2 opening, Shinzou wo Sasageyo! by Linked Horizon (IFYKYK), and imagined that I was listening to it while lying in my Better CR bedroom. That song gave me this intense feeling of resolve.I genuinely do not know how else to describe it. It made me feel completely certain, powerful, and emotionally committed to leaving. I stopped wondering whether shifting was possible, whether I was performing the method correctly, whether I was close, or whether the attempt would finally work. For those few minutes, there was no hesitation and I just felt like I was already going. Maybe that is the “state” people in the LOA community are always referring to???I honestly do not know. I have never been especially interested in perfectly defining every shifting or manifestation term.I just know that the song placed me in a completely different emotional and mental state. It made the outcome feel decided rather than something I was still desperately trying to accomplish.I had already written down a list of everything I wanted to change beforehand, so I did not stress about affirming each desire individually. I did not sit there repeating hundreds of affirmations, I simply knew that I already had everything on my list. My visualization were not perfect either, and that did not really matter. I did not have a crystal-clear mental image of every wall, object, or piece of furniture. Instead of forcing myself to create a perfect picture, I tried my best and allowed the environment to form around me naturally. I focused on the piano, the feeling of complete resolve it gave me, and the physical sensation of the bed beneath me, as I was lying down. Before I knew it, BOOM I was here.
What My First Day Felt Like
Nobody really talks about what the first day after shifting is actually like. I feel like reading a detailed first-day story would have given me so much motivation when I was still trying, so this is exactly how mine went. When I first arrived, it was already evening, and my parents were downstairs making dinner. When I woke up, it was not like I had actually been asleep. I had just been lying there with my eyes closed, listening to music just as I was in my old reality but then my eyes were suddenly open in a completely different bedroom. It was basically automatic, I genuinely do not know how to explain it any better than that. It felt like I had blinked and my old reality had disappeared.I instantly knew I was somewhere different because my constant, crushing anxiety was completely gone. I also did not hear any yelling. Instead, I heard actual, genuine laughter coming from downstairs, I was in shock!!!!!The moment I opened my eyes, I realized I was not alone in the room. There was a cat lying on my bed and a dog resting nearby. I could hear the cat softly meowing. In my old reality, we could never afford pets, so seeing animals peacefully relaxing in my own room felt completely unreal. My room also smelled so, so good, like strawberries mixed with a beach breeze. In my old reality, my room always smelled like shit and balls because I was forced to sleep in a tiny room with my grandmother (who had dementia and would shit on the floor) and funky little sister every night so that I could watch and care for them. Here, I had my own room and it was spotless, peaceful, clean, and the air actually felt fresh and breathable. I definitely could not say the same about my old room THAT'S FOR FUCKING SURE!
My brother walked in to tell me dinner was ready. He looked at me, smiled, and told me to turn off the fan so that I would not become sick because he would never want anything bad to happen to me. In my old reality, my brother was an evil and toxic person who was actually facing trial for (TRIGGER WARING) sexual assault and soliciting a minor and just brought complete disgrace to my family which was my last fucking straw. Hearing this version of him speak to me with such sincere love and concern gave me emotional whiplash. This brother looked completely different, carried himself differently, and was genuinely kind. When I began walking downstairs, I passed a mirror and ended up standing there staring at myself for at least two minutes. I looked so fucking good. Not to brag too much, but I looked like I had walked directly out of an aesthetic Pinterest board. I could not stop checking myself out. The face looking back at me was finally the one I had imagined for 5.5 years, except it somehow looked even better than what I had pictured. My body was perfect too lol I was completely in awe.I understood that this was my body and that it had supposedly always been my body, but looking at my reflection felt like watching a television show in which I was the main character, I was such a state of shock, I really could not believe this was really me.When I got to the kitchen, my mother and father were cooking together and laughing. In my old life, they constantly fought. My father was also severely misogynistic and would never have been caught willingly helping in the kitchen, so that was crazy. Having dinner with them was surreal. Everything felt warm, loving, and peaceful. They asked me about my day, hugged me, kissed me, and actually listened when I spoke. My mother made dessert and cut up fresh fruit for me.
After dinner, I checked my phone and usually, my phone was a completely dry desert with almost no notifications because I was a loser with no friends in this reality. In that reality, it had years of memories and photographs that I had never personally experienced in my previous reality. There were selfies with friends, pictures from traveling, photos from parties, pictures of us eating at amazing restaurants, and random everyday memories from a life that had apparently always belonged to me. I also had a massive amount of unread messages from people wanting to hang out.My friends were literally blowing up my phone, which is also part of why it took me so long to sit down and write this post. I wanted to cry from pure relief, but at the same time, I did not even cry because everything somehow felt normal. I was experiencing this strange but beautiful form of cognitive dissonance where one part of my brain was trying to process that everything had changed, while another part already understood that this had always been my life.As soon as I went back upstairs, one of my friends FaceTimed me.We ended up playing Roblox for most of the night. We did our skincare routines together over video and later had a Netflix watch party with some other friends until we finally went to sleep at around 4:00 a.m. Even though I had scripted some of these people completely from scratch, I somehow already knew them the second I saw them.I had never laughed that hard in my entire life. Seriously, hello? Maybe a cozy night involving Roblox, skincare, movies, and friends sounds boring to some people, but for me, it was genuinely the best day of my life. I only experienced half of the day because I arrived in the evening, yet it was still the happiest I had ever felt.
No, I had never felt that happy in my old reality. Before I shifted, I honestly thought I would be too frightened to sleep. I kept imagining myself thinking, “What if I wake up back in my nightmare old reality?” But no. I had the best sleep of my life, woke up in my Better CR exactly as expected, and somehow managed to have an even better day afterward, I only came back here to share this story but I am leaving again tonight :)
Mini Q&A
What was the final key or push that made it work?
Honestly, for a long time, I overthought every single method and became obsessed with performing everything perfectly instead of simply doing it. I spent years trying to force lucid dreaming for shifting because I thought it would be the easiest or most reliable route. Eventually, it became far too rigid and high-pressure.
The harder I tried and the more effort I forced, the less successful I became, which only made me more anxious.I honestly regret wasting so much time forcing methods that were clearly not right for me.Whenever I tried somebody else’s method or attempted to shift through meditation, I was far too focused on my body. I constantly monitored every sensation, checked whether I felt symptoms, wondered whether I was doing everything correctly, and waited for something dramatic to happen.Looking back, that probably kept me grounded in my old environment more than anything. Whenever it did not work, I would roll over and tell myself that I would try again tomorrow.
I repeated that pattern for years of course and then tomorrow became the next day, then the next week, and eventually the next month. As my circumstances became worse, I began attempting to shift out of desperation. That created an even more toxic cycle because I would become desperate, place an enormous amount of pressure on myself, fail because I was too tense and focused on whether it was working, give up for the night, and promise myself I would try again tomorrow. The real turning point was realizing that nothing could make music stressful for me. Using music as an anchor made everything feel effortless. Music naturally brings me into a state of pure happiness and helps me completely forget about the outside world.Like I said the piano version of Shinzou wo Sasageyo specifically gave me this overwhelming sense of resolve. For once, I was not lying there asking myself whether I was doing enough or whether the attempt was working.I do not know whether that is what people mean when they talk about entering the “state,” living in the end, knowing it is done, or whatever LOA term applies.
Maybe it was I genuinely do not know and care, all I know is that I was no longer trying to convince myself that it would happen. For those few minutes, it felt completely decided.Instead of focusing on my body, checking for symptoms, or wondering whether I was close, I was completely absorbed in the music and the feeling it created.I genuinely wish I had thought of it sooner. You really have to understand how your own mind works. Sometimes the best method is not the one everyone recommends or the one that sounds the most complicated and advanced.Sometimes it is something you stumble into accidentally because it already works with your mind instead of against it.For me, it was not even a planned method it just clicked naturally.
What supplements did you use?
I am not sharing the exact product because I do not want anybody to treat my experience as medical advice or assume that the same supplement will work for them.I had been experiencing heart issues, and my doctor told me that severe, prolonged stress was making them worse. After trying several other things, I searched Amazon for inexpensive ADHD and anxiety supplements and tested a few basic herbal blends until I found one that helped calm my racing thoughts. It was not some special shifting supplement. It was simply an ordinary herbal product that happened to work well for me. Different herbs and supplements can interact with medications or affect the heart, blood pressure, sleep, and anxiety differently, so this is not something I would recommend copying blindly. The important part of the story is not the exact brand. The important part is that, for once, my mind was calm enough for me to stop monitoring every thought and sensation.
What other realities have you shifted to?
I have shifted to my Waiting Room, my KATSEYE DR, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Harry Potter, and Chainsaw Man so far. I am also planning to shift to my nepo-baby DR for a couple of months. I normally shift overnight because I do not want to miss any time in any reality. I do not believe in clones, I do not use safe words, or worry about time ratios.
How long did it take you to shift?
It took me almost six years around 5.5 years, to be exact.
Did you try every day?
Yes. I attempted to shift almost every single day.
What were your circumstances like before?
ASS! My circumstances in my old reality were extremely bad. I lived with an abusive family and siblings, had no friends, and experienced severe financial hardship. I was forced into a college major that I absolutely hated, worked at a horrible job, and dealt with serious health problems, depression, anxiety, and body-image issues. I also was forced to take care of people all day and I never went outside to be honest! GUYS I cried every single day. I am not saying this to compare suffering or suggest that people need to suffer before shifting. I am explaining it because people often believe that they need perfect circumstances, perfect mental health, complete detachment, or a peaceful life before they can succeed. I did not have any of that. I still shifted so BOOOYAHHHH
Did you script every tiny detail?
Not at all, but I do like scripting so it was pretty detailed :) I wrote a general list of my desires beforehand, but I did not stress over making it perfect. I did not describe every conversation, room, object, or tiny detail. Your mind already understands what you mean and what you want. Do not become trapped trying to write every small detail unless you genuinely enjoy scripting, it can be a time waster tbh, SHIFTING IS MORE FUN THAN SCRIPTING AND DAYDREAMING ABOUT IT!!!!!
What did it actually feel like when you shifted?
It was a completely smooth transition. I felt the atmosphere around me change. The physical sensation of the bed beneath me shifted into the sensation of my new bed. When I opened my eyes, I was here. There was no dramatic portal, violent spinning, or overwhelming list of symptoms. It simply happened.
How did you remain motivated for 5.5 years?
It was difficult, and there were definitely times when I felt completely hopeless. However, knowing that my Better CR and Waiting Room existed kept me going. I never really had friends, so I became deeply attached to characters from books, movies, television shows, and games. Since I was young, I felt that they had to be real somewhere.I also never completely stopped believing in magic. I think part of that came from never having the childhood, safety, love, or friendships that I saw other people experience in stories. Because of that, I could never completely give up. No matter how many times I failed, I absolutely refused to accept my old reality as my only life. Also like I said above my disgraceful old brother was my final straw.
What is a Waiting Room?
I have a Waiting Room that I am turning into my permanent Base Reality and original reality.t is an entire world like this one, with its own places, societies, and other shifters and everyone there is immortal. I have been there several times, and it is absolute perfection. The coolest part is that I have soul contracts set up so that whenever I reach the end of my life in another reality, I automatically respawn there. It is basically my permanent home and eternal safe space.
One Last Thing
I also want to be honest and say that I have absolutely no idea how shifting actually works. I do not know whether it involves consciousness theory, the multiverse, manifestation, revision, quantum immortality, something spiritual, or something completely different. I do not think anyone can honestly prove that they know for certain. Because of that, I came back to share my success story, but I am also going to manifest a lottery win for my family in this reality before I leave permanently even though they are evil people, I guess it's my last final act of severing my connection with this weird world? I do not really know what happens to this reality when I am gone, and I do not know whether the people here continue independently of me. I would rather leave my family with enough money to completely change their lives before I leave. Then I am leaving. If it works, great. If it does not, I do not really care either, it is what it is and honestly IDGAF!
Final Words
To anyone reading this who has been trying for years, do not give up simply because the process has taken longer than you expected. It took me almost six years of attempting to shift nearly every day. Most of that time, I was overthinking, forcing methods that did not suit me, monitoring every physical sensation, and placing an insane amount of pressure on myself. You do not need perfect visualization, dramatic symptoms, another person’s exact method, hundreds of affirmations, or a completely empty mind, just basic resolve and intention! You need to understand what works with your own brain instead of constantly fighting against it. I still do not know, I only know that it worked. After 5.5 years, I finally fucking did it !!!! I’m a shifting Reddit girl, honestly. I find Reddit much more useful than Tumblr because the posts are usually more detailed, practical, and discussion-based, so here are some helpful posts!
