Theseus fixed his satchel to his side and made sure to look around to scope the place out. Theseus automatically went to take out a cigarette without realising muggle laws.

The name rang a bell in Theseus’ mind, of course he’d studied vampire families, it was all a part of his job really, and if vlad was a vampire.. And if he was linked to the murders then he’d surely know where to find him.

“so Vlad, that’s an interesting name, it links back to the transylvanian traditional names doesn’t it? Sorry, you must get this all the time, don’t worry my names Theseus I can assure you I get it in the neck all the time too” he said with a light chuckle.

“Yeah, it’s short for Vladimir. Vlad’s a family name. I’m the fourth. Most recent before me is my dad then the others are several generations back. We moved from Transylvania to England when I was twelve.” If he knew who they were and tracked them down, he’d already know that. It’s not like his location is a secret anymore, anyway.

“Theseus is Greek. So is Scamander. A legendary king and hero of Athens, and a river god.” He smiled. Breathers learn about Greek mythology in school, right? He just pays attention. “I think you might want to smoke that outside.” Was it inappropriate for him to say that to a teacher? Whether his dad owns the place or not, he’s still just a student. But he seems inexperienced with this, given his nervousness. He didn’t want him to get into trouble.

Theseus looked around, he certainly looked out of place.. He was too well built and groomed to be a supply teacher, and the way he spoke made him sound very intelligent indeed.

Theseus had sensed something was off about the place, and by the way the boy spoke you could almost see the wheels turning behind his eyes.

“would you actually mind showing me?” he asked as he began walking, theseus had a strong voice, one that was certainly commanding, he also had scars going from his back and stomach that showed above his shirt collar from his day’s in the war. As they walked he tried to make conversation, he knew he had to fit in in a way that would allow him to fade inyk the background. “so vlad hmm? I’m theseus.. I mean professor, no Mr Scamander” he stumbled, they called all teachers in hogwarts professor, of course it was different in a muggle school. “my bad” he said with a chuckle.

“No, of course. I don’t mind.” He... Probably would’ve continued watching him anyway, from a distance. Vlad knew he must be paranoid, but isn’t that what Bertrand would want, anyway? Can never be too careful.

He seemed out of place. That, Vlad knew he wasn’t making up. He’s clearly not a vampire. He’s alive. Human. A slayer? He didn’t seem like it. The slayers wouldn’t send someone undercover during the ceasefire, would they? He’s overthinking this. 

He smiled. “That’s alright. Nice to meet you, Mr. Scamander.” He led him through the door and down the hall. “It’s not far. I think Mr. Humphreys may have some notes or lesson plans in his desk if you need it.” It should be his father doing this, actually, but the school thing was Vlad’s idea, anyway. Maybe he wasn’t a normal student but it was as close as he could get.

Theseus Scamander had been sent to investigate some strange disappearances and murders, as an auror he had to ensure that he stayed low, and who fades into the background more than a supply teacher?

As he walked into the yard, holding a briefcase and wearing a slightly underflashy suit for theseus, he looked around, of course the girls stated at him, it was odd however usually people were stopping him in the streets for being a war hero, here no one knew.

He saw someone standing alone and walked over “sorry mate you don’t know where I could find Mr Humphreys room? Physics I believe?” he asked, now of course theseus knew absolutely nothing about physics, but he was an excellent bullshitter.

Vlad watched the man as he walked through the yard. There was some reason, he knew, but he couldn’t tell. It’s not like there are never unfamiliar faces here. It happens occasionally. He shook it off. It was paranoia. It was... All this training, and the vampire drama. Vlad hadn’t been getting much sleep. Between Chosen One training with Bertrand and dealing with the ferals at night and school during the day, sleep was hardly a priority, so he’s felt a bit off, and that’s all it was. It took him a moment to register that the man had come up and asked him a question.

He certainly asked the right person. He lives here and his dad owns the place. Even when tired, he knew the place like the back of his hand. Right, he had heard that Mr. Humphreys was sick and they needed to call someone else in to take his place temporarily. He heard his father complaining about how annoyingly fragile ‘breathers’ are and how they get sick so easily.

“Yes. Right. You must be the supply teacher. I’m Vlad. My dad owns this place.” He told him. “You’re not far, it’s just through that door,” he pointed to a door by them, “It’s down the hall, the fourth door on the right side, I’m sure you won’t miss it.” That’s it. Just the supply teacher. He was expected. It had slipped his mind. Perfectly ordinary. “I can show you if you want?”
