let's discuss "popular music"
Ahh man ScHoolboy. I've been a fan since 2011 no lie. Matter of fact, I think it's actually safe to say I was Q fan before K Dot! There was a point in my life where all I would listen to was underground rap which included this man. But Q definitely stood out to me; from his distinct flow to his goofy personality. I also thought it was very interesting how he capitalizes all of his "h's" whether it's in a tweet or his song titles. A little background...Quincy (his real name) is from South Central LA and the reason I brought up Kendrick earlier is because Q was signed to TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) in '09; which includes Kendrick, Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, and newly signed SZA, Lance Skiiiwalker and Isaiah Rashad. He also got a recording contact with Interscope in 2011. Also in that year, he tweeted why he capitalizes the h, "wHy my H always capitalized???? HIIIPOWER X HIPPY X HOOVER X HEAVEN & HELL AKA MY LIFE". Take that how you want it lmao. The first song I've heard from him was definitely Kamikaze. Very risqué song but that's what made me gravitate toward him! Fast forward to 2016, his album Blank Face, truly shows his progression as a rapper and hip hop artist. All in all, I definitely recommend giving him a listen if you haven't already. And if his music doesn't bump to you, you gotta at least love him for the clown he is! 😂
let's talk Q
literally just popped up on my dash, so let’s discuss KODAK
how do you feel about him as an artist? i’ve personally never listened to him but i’d like to know your opinion
check my last post 😊
KODAK BLACK
a year younger than me actually, lil black came up from sunny side florida pjs. i remember first hearing about him, but never really bothered looking into who he really was. the world revolves around social media now so of course we’ve all saw this meme floating around (see above photo). regardless of the various captions attached with the picture, i think the funniest thing about it is that barely anyone even realized that was lil black himself! but then the drake video that surfaced of him dancing to one of Kodak Black’s singles “Skrt”, helped him gain mad popularity and also helped him get signed to Atlantic. yet i STILL didn’t look into his music! it wasn’t until June of this year, when i saw him on the XXL mag cover as one of the 2016 freshmen, did i say OKAY! as a music enthusiast, i definitely intend on bumping, but what i’ve heard so far is mostly about his type of lifestyle and the criminal activity that he engages/engaged in and I’m not too excited, HOWEVER, i will indeed give Lil B.I.G. Pac a listen; as well as a future album by kodak. so check back for more updates! 💡
