New Chowlings Vent blog!

Rules:

1. This is a vent blog centered around the closed species of Chowlings made by SauntProof. Keep any asks you send related to Chowlings.

2. You must provide proof for serious allegations such as pedo/zoophilia, racism, etc.

3. I am not responsible for people’s reactions to your vent posts. I will be posting everything that fits within the rules of this blog.

4. Name dropping is okay but death threats, harassment, and hate speech are not allowed.

5. All posts will be anonymous unless you specifically request to be off anonymous.

6. Positive asks are okay too even if this may be listed as a vent blog.

7. I reserve the right to shut down topics if I feel they have lost the plot, gone too far, etc.

This will be unbiased where I will post anything people may send in. I may chime in on some posts if I feel like it but most likely will not. Any of the asks are not a reflection of my own views otherwise.

These rules are subject to change as this blog grows.

Members getting scammed by Saunt left and right. I honestly don't understand how she still has people in her pocket. Or how she manages to still be given money. Some of these poor folks veen scammed multiple times. Waiting on multiple things (Pretty sure anyway).

Lot of promised things happened in the last couple of years and we STILL have not gotten the things that has veen paid for.

As well as proof that some of this owed art is from 2022. Four years. Four years. I'm sure there are some that have been even longer. This is disgusting. If Saunt was not a popular species owner/artist, she would have been called out for scamming a LONG time ago.

(Chowlings) the fact it’s taken almost a week for chowlings staff to upload the over $100 paid myos to their owners bugs me to no end. as of sending this ask, the myos have still not been uploaded, but the staff has obviously been active. is there no sense of urgency?? this is a sum of more than $1000 of peoples money — with those people having nothing to show of it dayssssss later

Saunt is using the money for the server emotes to get them all of her own chows

Outside of Shin since that's the chow mascot, she's added emojis of Kindra, Oleander, Chanwoo, Doodle, and Jami

This is severe levels of ego to be honest

Interesting that Saunt sells MYOs to get new emotes when she could easily get money from completing her laundry list of customs.

Good luck anon… Unfortunately, even bumping and bothering her about it does not seem to get any results. I would be more than willing to compile a call out post if given details of the customs she has pending and how much money people have spent for them.

The new custom sales being over the usual 100€ (already expensive) I can just feel the greed.. The site doesn't even work and they're hosting sales? Idk man.

How are the Chowlings even going to get posted to the site while it is still broken? Though I will say that I do not think that the mods have any say on Saunt getting the site fixed. (I AM side eyeing the fact that SpaceCereal/Kirill is offering a custom when they have not kept up with the Spotlight Chow prompt at all.)

Welp, guess it's time to leave the species:

As much as I love the concept and lore of Chowlings and BIG LOVE to the community members for being kind and supportive, I can't take this anymore. The species seems to be going downhill as time passes on, from the large amount of custom queues Saunt owes to now the site being broken, even the masterlist is currently down. The prompts aren't that fresh and I feel drained out just by completing some DaVinci-tiered artwork in under a month. I do understand that the mods are probably trying their best to keep the species not losing it's luster, but at that point it doesn't feel like a fun ARPG anymore, it feels like a Pay-to-Win website for some sketchy fish-dog design.

The prognosis does seem rather dire...

I wish you luck on your future plans anon! Free from the shackles of Chowlings and Saunt!

I agree with you Mod.

It's very coincidental that these things happen whenever saunt is getting pushed about things.

As is the fact she seems to repeat "I didnt know anything about X or Z" as if trying to push blame on staff all the time.

I highly doubt she “didn’t know” about these things as the staff themselves have expressed trying to tell her things to no avail. The situation is most likely that they try to keep her in the loop but she ignores them for her own projects.

Also, it is a really bad look that the OWNER does not seem to know what is going on in her own species most of the time.

i love this species and my characters and the community and the friends i've made here so deeply which makes its inactivity and sheer incompetence recently so upsetting. i just want something good to happen i just want things to get better and for people to actually be running this thing without sucking ass and shit at it

Sorry mod, but what do you mean by "doing it on purpose"? Just curious on this view of things

This is just my own opinion, and it is purely just based on patterns that I have seen.

Often whenever Saunt starts being active again and making "progress" on something, the community begins to publicly question her/the teams' decisions on things. For example, many members started complaining about the lack of actual updates (per usual) and the return of the May shop which a lot of members did not enjoy due to it causing a high amount of stress the first time it was released.

I have noticed that when these complaints start up, Saunt will often make a change to the site that breaks it completely. The last time this happened was when she wanted to change how Chowling profiles looked, and now, it is adding awards which has broken half of the site.

To me, it feels as though she tries to divert attention to other things to get the heat off of her back . . . only for it to destroy half of the functions we use every day.

Again, this is just me making connections due to how long I have been around Chowlings.

So... wonderful thought-provoking valid criticism of Saunt and the state of Chowlings only for her to address one singular message out of all of them

Then she starts bringing up yet another different thing she is apparently working on when the guides still aren't done and she has thousands of dollars of backlogged commissions

People need to jump ship NOW, I'm only there for the drama but I can see people are getting tired of it all

I was surprised to see LyraSomnium to be so blatant about their feelings, but it was not unwelcome to see. It seems as thought they probably left the team because of the stagnation of Chowlings, which we all know is SauntProof’s fault.

There is always the promise of something new: guides, prompts, Avilets. But where are they? This closed species is six years old, at the very least there should be an anatomy guide.

Site is down for second day and Saunt doesn't give enough fucks to even reply to mods in the chat apperantly about it. Let alone make announcement for community.

I did see ZombieGarou mention that in the species-talk channel. It just shows that SauntProof really does not care about her community unless they are paying her. Thankfully, the site appears to be working now, but an announcement would be great to let people who are not active in the chats know.
