Having watched the documentary; "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" a couple months back, I found myself thinking about Jiro Ono's one poignant statement, ("You must immerse yourself in your work. You must fall in love with your work.") I found myself thinking about my own work. My photographs. I know there are a few photographers that I know personally that have said, "it isn't work, it's play." I never found myself in that train of thought; that I'm playing. I do enjoy being behind my camera but, I find myself more concerned with improving further and faster. I have always refused to let myself cease photographing, yet due to circumstances, I haven't forced myself to photograph like I did when I was in Los Angeles. Since I'm finally able to get tired.. I remembered a time during our road trip across the country, we could find a rest stop that allowed us to sleep. It was stressful at that time.. Well, at least before we got into Oregon and had a far more excruciating experience of getting to where we are now. In retrospect, these trying events brought us closer together as a team and I'm grateful for that. (at Custer, South Dakota)
