“(Tout) ce que tu n’as pas vu” Because I’m a father for the first time. Because she’s a mother for the first time. Because 9 months went on just like that in a twinkling of an eye. As my love was living her pregnancy and felt an immediate and intimate connection with our baby girl, I felt but a spectator. So I gathered some pictures I made during these priceless months when my heart kept growing, making room little by little for another human being inside it, and a few words I dropped along the way. Hello Love I’ve decided not to show too much anymore of the book projects I/we have been working on, until a book is actually done and out. I believe it’s essential - as frustrating as it can get - not to show everything (especially on social medias) in order to leave space to surprise and discovery in the printed pages of a book. The Myth of Sisyphus.

It was already late in the morning in the streets of Meknes, Morocco. When Making a book with Pauline we both have to face the challenge of choosing the pictures that will dialogue but that nonetheless will show our identity as photographer. I personally put a lot of attention to my frame and what I choose to put in it to compose it. I like to think that my pictures can stand by themselves firstly as landscape photographs by composing them carefully .It’s only then that I add people to fill up the spaces like a puzzle to create a certain rhythm to the whole thing and hopefully to tell something. Here I choose to keep this one for its frame and composition of course but also for the story it tells : it reminds me of The Myth of Sisyphus (Albert Camus) - man condemned to repeat the same task over and over again.
