I have fragmented memories of 2019. For some reason, there was this loud opinion that 2019 was shit, and 2020 was "the start of a new decade, a fresh start, full of love, compassion and solidarity for one another."
Well, God certainly heard us. And He gave us multiple opportunities throughout this year to become the people we swore we would be. Time and time again, in His infinite Love, he gave us the opportunity to love our neighbors, our enemies, and most importantly, to grow closer to Him.
And what did we do? We bitched, and moaned and complained about the "ruined, shitty year."
Many people feel entitled to blessings, they expect them to fall to their laps like Manna from the sky. But when many blessings come in disguise, we are quick to spat them and throw them away.
Oh, how we love to complain. How we love to be ungrateful.
Don't turn to creation, turn to the Creator! It's difficult to love our neighbors as ourselves, yes. Even our enemies. But this world is our ship, our home is heaven. When God asks us, "How much did you loved?" what is going to be our answer?
