Double Trouble || Christina & Thais
thaiis-a:
Thais bit the insides of her cheeks as soon as Christina spoke. She was blunt and straightforward, yet she’ll give her credit for being quite reserve and rational. Her father was an easygoing guy in comparison to the rest of her family, so if anything he would respect her opinion. However, if it were someone like Eden who had heard what she had just said, well things would have went downhill from there. “Now you’re just asking for a death wish Sparky.” Mateo declared which caused Emmeline to narrow a stern gaze at her son. “…Alright well this should be interesting.” the Marquis matriarch mused, it was evident that she was silently agreeing with Christina’s words as a slight smirk crept onto her lips. With a low whistle, James chimed in and said, “Interesting is an understatement dear. In all honestly, although we’re talking about my father, I’m quite impressed with the amount of confidence you have in yourself kid. Though, don’t say we didn’t warn ya.”
Standing there in silence and her lips pressed into a thin line, Élodie took in Christina’s words and kept an unfazed expression as she spoke. “That’s one way of putting it, but our pack runs differently and although there is some truth to your words, it won’t change how things are with Eden as the alpha. Thais can gladly do as she pleases, but clearly with the way she’s handling this it seems that she would rather not.” This time, Thais locked her gaze on her sister and sighed, “Look, I didn’t want to be the root of all the trouble…again. I will gladly remove myself from the premises, but you can go ahead and do what you have to do to get your point across. I don’t want to go through the fucking verbal abuse that the old man and his side kick have to offer okay? I’m done.”
However, Thais’ intentions of not having to deal with Drew and Eden didn’t seem to work out. It was bizarre that her best friend was interacting with the people who have put her through hell, yet here they were and it clearly looks as if they weren’t leaving any time soon. Drew wore an amused expression as he crossed his arms and stared at Christina from top to bottom. “Word got around alright. I mean you’re a Laurent after all, that itself explains everything.” Eden narrowed his gaze on the girls, but did not interrupt the firebender as she spoke on about the advantages of having her and the omega on their side. Thais’ expression remained neutral, but deep down she was surprised that her grandfather looked considerate at the offer.
Pure silence engulfed the room that not even Mateo or Drew dared to say a smart-ass remark. It was because of Eden’s serious and extremely focused expression made everyone realize that what Christina had said made an impact to the alpha wolf. “I have the numbers.” he stated firmly. “And while I do have the brains, I’m willing to confess that I lack slightly with the resources. I have the Marquis agency and a great deal of allies, but some aren’t so keen on making moves right away. They want definite assurance, something that I can’t provide right away. This was has gone for too long and I want the Italians to give up completely.” Eden then locked his gaze on both Thais and Christina and asked, “What is it that you too want out of this? Although, Élodie did her best to cover up the real reason for your unexpected visit, I’m going to go on a whim here and say that this sort of ‘help’ isn’t done out of the goodness of your heart.”
Thais furrowed her brows and shook her head. “I want nothing.” she stated with a nonchalant shrug. Drew then snorted a laugh which caused her to glare out of spite, “I’m serious, I want nothing to do with the both of you. If anything, I’m only doing this for my family—it has nothing to do with you—alphas, betas, omegas, I don’t give a fuck at this point. I just don’t want history to repeat itself. I don’t want to lose any more of my family, just like the way we had lost Henry.” Thais glanced over at Christina, “I don’t know what you had in mind, but by all means go for it.”
A firebender was born with an enormous amount of confidence and arrogance. Being a Laurent meant you had even more confidence and arrogance. Now that Christina had gotten her life in order and graduated from college, she was realizing how helpful her training was. “Thais isn’t leaving until this is settled. If not, I promise you will regret it.” Christina, heir to the Canadian branch of the Laurent Milieu, could pull some strings with Corentin and back the Italian werewolves in a deal and wipe out Drew and Eden’s packs. Perhaps with a bit of persuasion, Thais and her close family could be spared.
Christina half smirked at Drew. “Good. I’m glad you know my name. Remember it until the day you die,” she said in a low tone. She stepped aside to be in front of Eden and to devote all of her attention to him. Now that she got her face to face time with Eden, she would put Drew’s ass kicking on the back burner until right before Thais and Christina leave. Her smirk grew when she realized that she had Eden’s attention. She didn’t even know if he was really listening, but he seemed to like what she had to offer. Perfect. “You need more numbers and unfortunately, you’re going to have to play nice for a while to get them on your side,” she replied. Christina was playing nice now (at least her version of nice), as much as she hated it. What she kept in mind was the end result.
“As for the brains, you might want a fresh set of eyes to look at your situation,” Christina added. “You’ve been fighting this war for a long time. Years. But my people, me included, we haven’t seen your plans or interactions with the Italian pack. Fresh set of eyes could be a real life saver. Catch something you didn’t see before or suggest something you didn’t think of.” Christina walked around and sat down in the chair at the table that was clearly designated for the head of the pack, Eden himself. “We can give you that assurance. You team up with us, we’ll keep everything a secret. No one will know and we can infiltrate the Italian pack. We have werewolves on our side too. You’ll have our complete loyalty for this.” Christina put her feet up on the table and kept her gaze on the older man. “We’re going to smoke them out. Strangle them until they’re grasping for air and beg for mercy. And when they surrender, you can do what you want. Kill them, imprison and torture them. Have a field day with it.”
“What is it that you want out of this?” Eden asked. “This isn’t done out of the goodness of my heart. I don’t do anything unless there’s something in it for me as well. Good news for you, there is. Should we win, I want two things and only two things. One, you reinstate Thais as a member of your pack. Not as an omega but as a beta. And, you will lift the bounty that is on her head, even if she decides not to be member of your pack again. Two, I have a little problem of my own. Another French Milieu that I want out of the picture. I do this for you and eliminate the Italian Pack, and you will owe me a favor in the future. What do you say, Eden? My resources to help you fight off the Italian werewolves in exchange for your assistance against the Severins?” Christina raised her eyebrows at the man. She didn’t see her demands as too excessive and she hoped Eden wouldn’t either.

“I see things haven’t changed,” Christina said, looking around the room. “I don’t know why I thought they would have changed.” She paced around slowly and studied what the similar and what was different. “Guess I figured that after graduating things would look different when I came back.” She wasn’t exactly here for pleasure or the hell of it. Christina was back for work and she didn’t know how long she’d be around. Tasks were touch and go. Some lasted weeks and others lasted only a day or two. Sometimes she and her team would start the work and then another team would come in and finish. Christina crossed her arms over her chest as she continued to walk around. “It’s better after you graduate and finally leave school.”

Double Trouble || Christina & Thais
thaiis-a:
Mateo got up from his seat as a low growl escaped his lips. A typical reaction when a werewolf is compared to a dog. “Who the fu—” He stops halfway as soon as his mother raised a hand for him to stop, “Not in our house Mateo and keep in mind she’s our guest.” At this rate, Thais was not having it as she proceeded to take a seat at the dining table. Her unamused and stressed out expression was demonstrated all at once as she began stress eating at her own will. James Alves smirked as he walked over to his daughter and stood behind her while placing his hands on her shoulders and giving her a reassuring squeeze. “Calmez-vous ma chérie, nothing is going to happen to the both of you.” His gaze then travelled over to his wife as a low chuckle escaped his lips. “You hear that Em, Thais wanted all this to happen. No threat from my old man is going to stop her from seeing us.”
Thais ate in silence, giving a moment to herself while Christina spoke on to her parents and siblings. “That’s great to hear that you found your calling right after you graduated.” chimed Elodie as she took interest in her response. “Not many go through that.” Emmeline nodded in agreement, but Mateo ended up rolling his eyes and adding his two cents into the conversation, “Mais l’Agence de Marquis est le meilleur choix.” At this rate, the whole family rolled their eyes at Mateo’s pettiness and chose to ignore it as they motioned Christina to make her way to the table. Silence engulfed the room after the firebender declared the purpose of them being here and that caused Thais to squirm slightly in her seat. She could see the seriousness in both her parents faces, while her siblings showed signs of uncertainty.
“Do you know how packs work firebitch? I thought Clearbrook was an institution filled with the supernatural, shouldn’t they have taught you the basics of our kind?” Mateo rhetorically asked, before continuing on. “You won’t be a problem, if anything you’d be a nuisance that could be taken care of. Thais on the other hand is. This isn’t a family dilemma where you’re dealing with two assholes who don’t get along with everyone, A pack is more than family, it’s how each and everyone of us can survive—she was spared and you’re brilliant idea might change that.” No one bothered to interrupt the eldest Alves seeing as he was right. This time, Thais stopped eating as she placed her utensils on the table and looked over at Christina with a stern gaze. The atmosphere in the room turned somber as James cleared his throat and looked over at the two girls, “As much as we appreciate the both of you making efforts in proving a point. Your brother is right Thais, the stunt we pulled during our anniversary was probably the last straw. You both should leave while you can.” Emmeline suddenly nodded and said, “If you came here to spend time with us it would have been a different story. However, going up against Eden and Drew? Who mind you are both alphas of their prospective packs at a time like this? War is being waged upon on Thais, this isn’t a good time to pick a fight with them.”
“We’ll leave.” declared Thais as she maintained her gaze at Christina. If it weren’t obvious, she wasn’t having at it and she hoped that her best friend had an ounce of decency and respect to do the same. She knew how stubborn she can get, but this was serious and all sort of confidence and reassurance went down the drain after hearing the truth from her parents, let alone from Mateo out of all people. “You’re a genuine friend Christina, but some things are better left alone.” Elodie spoke up in a profound tone. “Thais already spoke out and handled herself. If she wanted to give a ‘firm foot up the ass’ to the both of them, it’ll have to be done not only at the right time, but when she’s ready, alone and at her own will. Not to make a pun on purpose, but you’re literally adding fuel to this fire.” Mateo chuckled lowly, but Thais was taken back at how her sister spoke. Maybe it was because of how Christina called her out on the men in her life or maybe she was flat out right, but one thing is for sure, she would only be outspoken and brutally honest if she needed to be.
“I’ll come back when things have died down. It’s not like I was conscious in the decision making process and as much as I would like to make my place here, it’s a given that this isn’t the right time. Get up Christy, leave the ass kicking for later.” Getting up from her seat, Thais bid her family goodbye with all the hugs and kisses she’d have to hold onto before they’d meet again. She then proceeded to take Christina’s arm and pull her up as she motioned her to head for the exit. However, just as they were about to leave, both Eden and Drew walked into the room—one unamused, while the other wore a sardonic smirk. “James we need you out there, pair up with Theo while Mateo is with Jackson—And what is she doing here?” demanded Eden. “—And who the hell is she?” Drew took a step forward and just as Thais was about to speak up, he decided to interrupt her. “I believe that is Christina Laurent, Chevalier agent, best friend to my dearest T. How am I doing so far? Oh and where’s Gerard? I was hoping that you’d bring him too. It seems like he and I got off on the wrong foot the last time we met.”
“Fuck off Drew.” Clenching her fists, Thais growled lowly as she glared daggers at her ex-boyfriend. “We were just leaving.” she muttered. Eden held a hand out motioning the two to not leave, “Thais, you know how much I despise repeating myself. Therefore, I expect an answer from you.” A scoff escaped the she-wolf’s lips as she shook her head in disbelief, “That’s the thing, I don’t know you and second of all, you’re not my alpha. I was just visiting my family, that excludes you and the pack—so you have nothing to worry about. Christina allons-y, we’re leaving.” Drew whistled lowly, while the Alves Alpha narrowed his gaze on his granddaughter, “It doesn’t matter, this is my territory and last time I checked, I made it clear there’d be consequences if you crossed the line again. Besides, I spoke to Evelyn earlier since she encountered the both of you earlier. From my understanding you’re here to see me and Drew.” Thais refrained from rolling her eyes at how much of a snitch her aunt could be, instead she glanced over at Christina bracing for whatever response she’d have cause at this rate, the she-wolf just wanted to cuss the both of them out and that wouldn’t do her any good at all. However, Elodie cleared her throat as she walked over to both of the girls and said, “There’s some truth to that, they’re actually here to help with our situation. Isn’t that right girls? We decided to hold a celebratory breakfast since they both graduated and we’ve told Thais about the tensions in our territories. So she, along with Christina who would be an excellent ally, suggested they’d help out. We need all the help we can get right? Isn’t that what you said in our last pack meeting? I can only do so much with the connections I have, but Thais here is talented and skillful in her craft, while Christina works in the top agency, aside from mom’s of course. So girls. what do you say?”
Christina couldn’t help but smirk at Mateo Alves as she took a bite of her food. “I don’t usually listen to old white men,” she said to Thais’ father. “They think they run everything but their time’s running short.” She leaned back in her seat and looked over at Thais. “I’m not scared of them. Their egos are very fragile.” She scowled at Mateo when he asked her about the packs and their relations. She took her knife and twirled it when people kept telling her they couldn’t go against Eden and Drew. Christina didn’t like being told what she could and could not do.
“Things are not better left alone,” Christina said. “Here’s the thing about the Milieu. We have a leader, a second in command, advisors, captains of divisions, soldiers, family members, and associates. When there is division within the organization, you are susceptible to enemies who will use it against you. From what I understand, war is being waged and you don’t have the manpower to win. Reasons? Few allies and there’s a divide in your family.” She raised an eyebrow at Elodie. “Thais was spared. She was lucky and now she’s dangerous. You’re lucky she didn’t turn against you because she has the power to tear this pack down.” Christina felt her arm being tugged by Thais and she shook it off. She stood up on her own and followed Thais to the door.
Christina narrowed her eyes at Drew and Eden when they came in. She crossed her arms over her chest and stepped towards Drew. Her gaze was steely and determined. She was getting toe to toe with him. “Seems like someone’s done their research. Word’s got around. I hope that my reputation precedes me,” she said without taking her eyes off of him. Eden was the exact reason why Christina hated the leader of her own family and their business. Corentin wasn’t much different from him. The only difference was Corentin had blue fire and Eden had claws. Christina opened her mouth to tell Eden and Drew off until Elodie spoke up. She furrowed her eyebrows and turned around to look at the she wolf.
Christina narrowed her eyes and turned back to face Eden. She dropped a hand to her belt where her gun was holstered and the other hand on her hip. Her frown shifted into a small smirk. “She’s right. You’re fighting in a war that you can’t win. You don’t have the numbers or the brains to win. Brains meaning you don’t have world class strategists, advisors, or hackers,” Christina told him. “From my analysis, you’ve got more Italian werewolves at the border of your territory. I’ve got connections to the military, government, and criminal underground. All just depends on how dirty you want to fight against the Italians.”
Double Trouble || Christina & Thais
thaiis-a:
They should have just stayed in the city. They could have been sipping on some wine, eating macaroons, enjoying a relaxing bubble bath, and what not. However, instead they opted in getting maimed by her very own pack and even though it had not physically happened yet, Thais was certain the worse is yet to come. “Did you just fucking assume that your dog could make things everything better just cause we share the same genes? Oh my God, I’m seriously about to kill you.” she hissed out as she shook her head in complete disbelief and disapproval. “Alves aren’t a syndicate okay?! So we have a shit load of territories, but that’s besides the point. Plus we’re a militia you don’t need that extra fire power!” At the mention of Rocket’s hard work, Thais bit her lip and decided to be the bigger person and suck it up. “No that’s not what I meant! You know what, fuck it. Why do I even bother!?”
Elodie’s unamused gaze kept going from Christina to Thais after hearing what the firebender had exposed. It wasn’t until it came to a halt that she was now locking gaze with her younger sister, who had a very desperate apologetic look on her face. “Who I date is none of Thais’, let alone your’s business.” stated the older woman with a frown. “All those men you’ve mentioned meant nothing to me, they were just friends! Killian wasn’t even that bad though! And I’m not dating Algernon! He’s just a close colleague that just so happens to take interest in me that I can’t quite shake off cause he’s an asset to my mother’s agency! Thais! Why are you spreading false information!” The she-wolf recognized that whiny, icy, tone that Elodie was spewing out. She stepped out of line and sure, maybe she misinterpreted every man in her sister’s life—but she barely had any time for herself, let alone any action of the sort! So Thais just assumed that these people were making up her social life. Her glare hardened as soon as she heard Christina’s assumption. “You fucking blew it with my aunt and sister, what makes you think you’ll get that result with the rest of the family?!” She then looked over at Elodie and said, “So maybe I fucked up! But I was just venting to Christina about how it’s about time you put yourself first and have some fun in your life! I just assumed that those men were something to you! I didn’t know they were assets and acquaintances.”
Entering the dining room, James, Emmeline and Mateo all paused what they were doing and gave the three women an incredulous look. “The fuck are they doing here?” called out Mateo as he looked over at Elodie. “And why do you look like that? OH! Wait! I get it, Thais is here…Oh man, you really fucked up to get El this upset. And Christy, you look like a hot mess…Ha get it, hot mess. Oh man, this day is getting better and better.” James Alves got up from his seat and ignoring all the commotion and embraced his youngest daughter, “Aw sweetie, you miss us this much that you decided to go against your grandfather’s wishes and show your face here again? That’s my girl, always a rule breaker and one heck of a confident badass. You take after me, I’m quite proud of that.”
And there it was. The realization that she was fucked for good.
“No apparently Christina and I made a pact when we were drunk that we were determined to show our face here and that doesn’t help dad! He’ll be more than vexed once he found out that me and a firebender are roaming his territory.” deadpanned Thais with a sigh as she massaged her temples. Emmeline soon followed and mimicked the same actions that her husband did as she gave Thais a warm greeting. “What did I say about having too much fun? And James quit joking around, it seems that Thais has been stressing out about this. Let’s have some breakfast, take things slow…Eden isn’t here yet and how many times do I have to remind you that we won’t let anything happen to you.” Both her parent’s gaze travelled to Christina and Emmeline went ahead and asked, “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you Christina. How is Chevalier? And also, may I ask what your intentions are for being here? Moral support? Or were you the one who instigated the whole thing?” Emmeline was the type to get straight to the point, she wanted honesty and integrity, therefore, Thais crossed her fingers hoping that her best friend wouldn’t fuck her answer up.
Christina raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms over her chest when Mateo stood up in the dining room. The tilted her head down and stared at him. “Can it, Fido,” Christina told him. She relaxed some when Thais’ parents came over, but she wasn’t overly thrilled about meeting them. She was out for blood. More specifically, Eden and Drew’s blood. She was going to go for the throat. She rocked back and forth from the balls of her feet to her heels as Thais greeted her family.
Christina wondered what it would have been like if her parents were still around. Obviously, if they were still alive, she wouldn’t have been at Clearbrook in the first place. She would have never have been friends with Thais. But, if the only difference in her life now was that her parents were alive, she wondered if they would have eventually have gotten along. She wondered if they would have greeted her like Thais’ father did when she visited them. She returned her focus on the issue at hand. “It wasn’t a pact. It was an idea that Thais agreed to.” She folded her hands in front of herself as Emmeline came toward her. She was straight forward, just like her own mother.
“Pleasure is all mine,” Christina told him. She gave a small smile, which was more like a permanent smirk on her face. “I like Chevalier. It’s different.” She nodded and gave a little shrug. “It’s a good job.” Christina raised her eyebrows when Emmeline asked about their idea of coming here. “Oh, yeah, a bit of both really. I suggested giving her ex-boyfriend a firm foot up the ass, which also happened to include doing the same to her grandfather. Thais wasn’t going to do it unless I came and here I am. Some how I managed to plan this entire situation while drunk. I didn’t do half bad either. It’s all going much better than expected. Even running into Mateo again,” she said motioning towards Thais’ older brother. “That was not something I wanted to look forward to and yet, here we are.” Christina looked around the room. “Do I smell eggs with brouillade de truffes?”
