FINAL PROJECT...
This is the final product for my last assignment that is due for Creative Image Communications 100. I endeavoured to create an animation of my bed making it self. My objective for this final project was to create a time lapse, but I wanted to create something that was a little more innovative than the generic time lapse of a sunrise or sunset etc. So I decided to condense the different stages of the ‘bed making’ process in to a short 1 minute clip.
Although we haven’t directly covered stop animation as a technique throughout the CIC 100 unit, I thought it was a strong way to use a number of images and bundle them together to make something come to life.
My inspiration for this project stemmed from a story that my uncle was telling me about him attempting to train his dog to make his bed for him. As soon as he mentioned that he wished he didn’t have to make it himself, it got me thinking….. what if the bed could do it. From then on I continued to brainstorm ways in which that could be possible, however without coming up with any plausible explanation – I thought I would just have the bed making itself magically.
As we have looked into Glitch Art quite a lot throughout the course of the unit, I thought it was only fitting that I tried to combine some into my time lapse. My idea was to have the time lapse in black and white and then a glitch roughly half way through - allowing me to turn my animation into colour. I am not 100% happy with the outcome, I think that it could be more effective, and this is something that I will look at changing and improving.
