love that both The Phantom of the Opera and The Hunchback of Notre Dame took these beautiful pieces of architecture and said "what if a weird guy lived in there"
The Phantom of the Opera is a guy in a mask who pretends to be a supernatural creature to harass his opera house into giving him ransom money, causing disasters when they don’t pay him.
Clearly, they should have hired these guys to stop him:

And so ends the saga of the broken mannequin.
For anyone unfamiliar with the running gag the mannequin got mangled in a hugging accident in an earlier comic.

Phantom Royalty: Davis Gaines (1990-1996)
Davis Gaines is one of the first actors to have played both Raoul and the Phantom. Gaines rose in popularity after taking over the title role in the Los Angeles production before continuing on to the San Francisco and New York companies and 2nd National US Tour.
Gaines took Crawford’s sensuality and dialed it up to eleven to reach a melodramatic level that still seemed to work for the character. And pairing that with a voice that practically oozed vibrato, he soon earned a reputation by phans as a “sexy” Phantom.
Actually fuck it. Claude Rains blooper reel be upon ye. I love him he's awkward and melodramatic. The fading crescendo of "OH DAMN AND BLOODY AND BUGGER AND BLAST" lives rent free in my mind and has for the last 5 years or so.
Anyway yeah. Lily.
