BIOGRAPHY
Christopher grew up always the kind of black sheep of the family, focused on studying he was a bit of a maths prodigy, after his freshman year of high school he was selected by a local private school for a full scholarship to the school not too far away. school life here started with quite a bit of difficulty it was obvious he didn't come from a well off family and a lot of the kids looked down on him for being a scholarship kid. it wasn't until he was selected for the school rowing team and started to massively excel in the sport that other kids started to warm to him.
with his home life already being very difficult his father not around, his mother somewhat absent, Christopher learned at a young age to fend for himself, getting himself a job while at school to pay for rowing events and to save up for college himself knowing his mom wouldn't be able to afford it. he, however, was awarded an educational and sports scholarship to harvard financially massively helping him to do what he loved. he struggled at times with the idea of leaving his family behind worrying about his brothers. sometimes flying back when things happened in the family to be there for them, but in all, he believes his family see him as if he abandoned them for his own life and bettering himself.
while at university he trialled for the us rowing team, still keeping up with his education as he did. he was selected and found himself competing in the men's eight in london, rio and tokyo. using a portion of his time before each year's competitions learning the language of the host country, he has a true love for languages and always felt if you were spending some time in a country being able to communicate with people in their native tongue and not just expecting them to be able to speak yours was important. christopher lived in new york through much of his post-university years, training at new york athletics club with many of his fellow olympians and olympic hopefuls.
he has now moved to seattle this fall, after snagging a new job working for a large accounting firm in the city, the decision to leave new york was a difficult one but he felt like he was at a good time in his life for a change he still hopes to compete in paris 2024 but knows it may not be as easy from seattle. his determination to push himself to a fourth olympics however is unlikely to waver.
