I thought I looked like a Christoph, but alright. I'm the youngest, washing dishes falls into my job description.

I.. I don’t know. You look like a Fitz? Cooking is actually quite fun. Unless you have to wash the dishes yourself.
I thought I looked like a Christoph, but alright. I'm the youngest, washing dishes falls into my job description.
It’s— I don’t know. For a second I thought your name was Fitz. Sorry, that happens every once in a while. My dad’s to blame for that one. Anyway. Because cooking is fun? And healthier?
Makes a person feel really appreciated. If my brain didn't retain information so well I'd call you something other than Viola. Yes, that's all well in good in practice but there's not enough hours in the day for that sort of stuff.
I know I can do things you can’t.
Ugh, Fitz— no. No, no. Stop. Wait. Rewind. Your name’s.. Christoph! That’s it, Christoph. Anyway. You should try. Or learn, rather. It’ll come handy in the future, trust me.
For the sake of this argument I'm willing to bet you can do many things I cannot.Â
Oh... you know how to make a guy feel appreciated. Fitz? Where did you even get that name from? Why learn to cook when I can order food or eat simpler things that don't require cooking.
Of course I can cook! I had to learn myself because my father was too stubborn to learn to do everything the right way. Sometimes shortcuts are not the way to go when cooking certain things.
Well I guess in that circumstance. And see, you can do something I can't. I mean I can cook, I guess. I haven't really tried.
Idiots, that’s who. Idiots who still believe in the whole “you should be at home, you should be in the kitchen” idiots.
Well that's ridiculous. My father's in the kitchen and I wouldn't let you near one. Can you even cook?
To show that girls can do whatever guys can… Despite the difficulties.
And whoever said they couldn't? My mother is very capable of doing everything I can and more.
I am not put out for this.
Then why did you volunteer for it? Â You could've let me have a go.
The Other Way Around
Hugo opened his mouth and shut it quickly, feeling guilty for pressuring his brother. Sometimes the age gap between them hindered their relationship, making it difficult to be truly close. “I’m sorry.” He mumbled quietly, tugging on the seat belt around his neck. “Sometimes I just don’t know what to say because you’re a hundred times smarter than me. You probably think I’m stupid.”
The silence stretched between them and Hugo watched the world flash by through the car window. He glanced at Christoph and shrugged. “Fair enough. You don’t need to be, so long as you’re happy.”Â
As Christoph got out of the car, he sighed again. He couldn't hold grudges very long, no matter how hard he tried. "No. You're actually pretty smart. I mean, not as smart as me of course, but considering.. You're pretty smart. You're-- street smart. There, that's the word," he smiled, nodding at it. Hugo was more street smart than Christoph in a lot of ways. They both could learn stuff from each other.
"Thanks, Hugo."
What sort of specimen? Not a dead animal kind of specimen?
No, no, no, no! I don't test on animals, no. That's cruel. It was a bacteria that I'm testing. I might be able to get it to hold a few bytes of memory and put it into a chip.
So what had you in such a rush? If I’m allowed to ask, that is.
Oh, I had to put a specimen in the fridge as soon as I could. Nothing big.
The Other Way Around
"Didn’t." Hugo said. He wasn’t going to let it go. It was rare that he could get this upper hand over his brother, especially when he was drunk. They still had five more minutes trapped in the car, which Hugo planned on taking advantage of while he could. "Jesus had nothing to do with it, I promise you that."Â
Hugo grinned across the console. It was a creative method but it would be entertaining for everyone involved, mainly him. Especially if Christoph did it. “I might be inquiring if you are gay but I’d never insinuate it, unless you have something you want to tell me?” He asked. “You never tell me anything so I just have to guess. I don’t even know if you’re interested in anyone.Â
Christoph scoffed. "I don't tell you anything because everything I do doesn't interest you so I've given up on that. D'you've any idea how difficult it is to start a conversation with someone who's not even the slightest interested in the things you do and like?" Then he went quiet.
For a while, he was quiet. I don't even know if you're interested in anyone. He scoffed again. Interested. There wasn't room for being interested in anyone. As he parked the car, he took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I'm not gay. And I'm not interested in anyone."
I’m glad you’re sure. I’m Lily, nice to meet you Christoph.
Mm, nice meetin' you too, Lily.
I never said you were. I just asked if you were sure. It sounded like you weren’t.
Well.. I'm sure.
Also. Sorry. I'm Christoph.
You seem uncertain in your answer. Are you sure?
What do you mean am I sure? Of course I'm sure. I wasn't raised a slob.
On manners? I’m slightly terrified to know what your table manner is like.
They're good! I'm not like-- a slob or anything.
Are you lying? You had to have known that that’s why people use manners.
What? No. Just needed a refresher. Sometimes I draw a blank on things like that.
