Like, wardens have chronic nightmares but blights always make them FAR worse now imagine a DOUBLE blight. Bruh .. and davrin is just steamrolling through it, now im imagining assan as a kind of therapy animal that gently wakes him up when they get too bad …

im absolutely heartbroken trick weekes got laid off of bioware by EA. Like this is SO SO sad to me. Mass effect and dragon age were such formative experiences for me in my youth and trick’s characters in those games made the biggest impacts . Finding out years later that i was nonbinary and then that they also were. Everything they did with taash in veilguard. I appreciate them and their work in bioware so much it has meant so much to me without even bringing solas into it (the most brilliant character i have ever seen)

Damn.. there are no words. Every time bioware does something good for EA’s reputation they have to come in and remind us that theyre an awful company.

theres kind of an eldritch horror to solas that i hope we can feel in veilgard and maybe vows and vengeance

like he is essentially the creator of reality as modern thedas knows it, the world is the result of his actions and he sees it as a mistake. Modern reality and thedas is some unforeseen accident and he wants to just backspace it

just imagine finding out the creator of your world sees doing so as his biggest failure and wants to undo it, even if it destroys everything. He sees the world as some kind of project for him to perfect

now imagine that creator falls hopelessly in love with someone from a culture exclusive to his “mistake” .. yeah thats why i like solavellan

This is getting attention again somehow so ill give a post veilguard update and yeah.. i got what wanted.

You can definitely feel just how terrifying and powerful Solas can be. I wanted VG to show us the dread wolf and it delivered. The moment he pulls you into the prison, youre falling and tumbling as he just calmly walks around you making snide remarks. The constant betrayals and manipulations. The fight and trick endings! Even how he fights when he follows you . VG 100% tapped into that dark part of solas i was talking about here.

Imagine playing Inquisition when it first came out and deciding to romance the bald apostate elf man who saved you from a glowing mark on your hand only to find out he's millenias old elven god known as the Dread Wolf, who fundamentally changed the world, creating a blight that ravages said world, imprisoned the rest of the elven pantheon, and who decides to leave you for unfinished business at the end. The Dread Wolf took you alright, for a wild fuckin ride, unmatched experience.

I did this and the best part was that I was already a chronic villain-fucker and I chose this guy without knowing how perfect he'd be for me. I was planning to romance Josephine until I heard that pretty voice waxing poetic about his lucid dreams (the other thing I'm into) and went "hmm, okay, I guess I can look past the lack of hair..."

And yes, finding out the truth about him was what tipped Dragon Age over from just another fun game series to fullblown obsession.

I also had a similar experience lol. I had played others DAs b4 inquisition and my favorite thing pre-solas was the qunari and their lore. So naturally the only thing on my mind when inquisition came out was finally playing as a qunari. UNTIL i got through half of the first conversation with solas and his voice, demeanor and the way he was expanding on elf and magic lore made me restart and make an elf to romance him .. Best decision ever
