"Ah, alright…" he said, happy to finally have common ground. The monsters here laid eggs just as the monsters in his barn. Though he couldn’t help but wonder why and how they sold monsters here. Actually, after thinking about it that seemed like a great way to make a profit. Especially where he came from, monster taming being so rare and all.
He cleared his head of all profit making thoughts when he realised he needed to get down to business. Raguna entered the ‘coop’, as she called it, and bent down to look at her animals. Within seconds he was out of breath from bursts of laughter. These were her dangerous monsters? He picked one up, still laughing, and looked it straight in the eye. Not one ounce of threat to be found. Raguna collected the remaining eggs and brought them out to Claire.
"I can see what you mean…" he said, a smile still on his face, these are definitely not monsters. No claws, teeth, or talons to be found. I can see why this is a common way of earning a living around here."
Claire looked over at Raguna, surprised to hear such a reaction. She shook her head and smiled, then set down the chicken she was holding. “Quit being cute and get to work, Raguna.” She walked over to the feed dispenser and started to fill the food troughs. Once finished with that, she looked at the board that read how much feed she had left. Luckily, she had enough for another week, so she didn’t need to spend any more money.
"You done?" she asked, looking back at Raguna. "Just put the eggs into the shipping bin when we pass it going to the barn. I’ll put you in charge of feeding the cows and sheep, alright?"
Raguna reluctantly set down the last chicken, a smile still on his face from how friendly the little chicken animal was.
"Alright," he said, turning to Claire, "they're completely different from my animals but it looks like they eat the same thing."
He went over and took out a bunch of fodder to give to the cows and sheep. As he fed them he'd talk to them and pat their heads. He wasn't sure if all animals were this friendly, or if it was just because he was an earthmate.
Raguna finished feeding them and returned to Claire. A question had popped into his head and suddenly a vital piece of the puzzle appeared to be missing.
"Ah, Claire! Where do you get these animals from if you don't have a dungeon? It's not like they jsut sell them around town, right?"
