For a moment, Reki is glad his head is still ducked so that the older skater can’t see the way he flushes slightly with embarrassment. He wasn’t expecting him to take that comment seriously, much less give him an actual response. Kaoru’s next question pulls him back into the moment though, and he straightens his posture once again — seemingly forgetting the scuffle that just took place.

“Oh, right — we got this assignment in school, I think it’s to talk to someone about their career? I dunno. Probably to help prepare us for our career tests or something, but uh — I wanted to get dibs on you before Langa could.”

{{ 🌸 }} -- What was that? Career assignment? He calmed immediately, tilting his head in thought. “Is that so? Well. I don’t see why I can’t help you in any way.” Might as well help the boy out. Then again, he wasn’t sure why he was chosen when Reki had the choice of the idiot cook to talk to.

“What is it you’re supposed to do? Like an interview?”

It doesn’t hurt ( never has ), but it’s the principal of it all. He hangs his head in over - acted shame, rubbing at the back of his neck with an awkward laugh.

“It’s …. part of my charm? Right? Ch — er, Sakurayashiki?”

“NOW, then. If you would be so KIND as to explain what you want? You interrupted my work for something, didn’t you?”

Hm?!” God, he’s just as bad as the damn Gorilla! He snarled a bit, whacking him again. At least it wasn’t hard enough to cause any damage. It was more like a mother hitting their child over the head playfully with a rolled up magazine.

“Good God, you and your hardheadedness..”
