He really starts to get concerned when you brush off his questions. So he decides to go in with caution.
He wraps you up in his arms and speaks to you softly. Much to your chagrin he can read you like a book and knows exactly how to get you to fess up to what’s going on.
“I don’t know it just feels like nobody cares about it” these words are enough to send Shadow into super boyfriend mode.
He wipes your tears and tightens his embrace. He tells you that it’s not true.
He reassures you that he very much cares and he will do everything in his power to ensure you feel special especially today.
It was likely that he already made some plans for the two of you but those are quickly set aside to make room to curate your perfect day
Shadow already has a backlog of all your favorite things and places memorized all you need to do is say the word and he’ll take you there.
His first move is to locate your favorite outfit and draw you a bath, an extra nice one with salts and bath bombs.
While you’re soaking he calls EVERYONE making sure that they are not only aware of the day but making sure they help contribute to the celebration
If you’re a party person he’ll assign Amy, Vanilla, and Sonic to set up a surprise party if you’re not he’ll make sure that they either drop by to deliver a gift or message you with birthday wishes
Once you’re ready he’ll take you out, anywhere you want to go if you want to go shopping? he’s on it. a movie? Consider it done. If you want to go halfway across the world? You’re already there.
He will stop at nothing to see a smile on your face and make you forget you were ever sad in the first place
At the end of the day, once celebrations have ended cake has been eaten and all your friends have gone home shadow will take you in his arms and begin to list all the reasons he loves you.
The list goes on forever, you’re asleep before he can even get halfway through it
As you snooze he wraps you up in his arms and kisses you on your head falling asleep next to you
Every year after he makes sure to pay attention to details ensuring that you feel special every single birthday because even though it’s your birthday, to him you are the gift
