♡ ~ Love Striking Extravaganza
Lowkey did not know how to end this, so please ignore the terrible ending. I need to make a divider, dude.💔
It was supposed to be a fun and simple outing with friends.
Giyuu, Shinobu, and Sabito were going to some traveling circus that had caught Sabito's eye online. It really didn't take much to impress that guy.
Shinobu had agreed because she had a fascination for contortionists. She would explain in uncomfortable detail what would happen to Giyuu's body if he tried to be that flexible. He didn't like the idea of his body bending backward at every joint like that.
And, of course, Giyuu was brought along. He didn't mind going, but he certainly wouldn't mind a few extra hours of sleep either. He was now placed right between the two, his lap catching the crumbs from Shinobu's snacks when Sabito reached over for a bite.
"Giyuu, it's going to start soon!" Sabito whispered, shaking Giyuu by the shoulders. He almost knocked over Shinobu's popcorn bucket in the process, but he either didn't notice or didn't care. Maybe both. "I wanna see a lion jump through a ring of fire, like in the movies!"
"You truly are simple-minded," Shinobu giggled, chewing on the pretzel she got earlier. "It's quite charming. Too bad none of the ladies feel the same."
"Hey!" Sabito hissed. "The ladies adore me. They just don't know it yet."
Sabito and Shinobu continued their playful bickering when the lights gradually dimmed. Eventually, they were in complete darkness. A single spotlight turned on, drawing everyone's attention to the man in the center.
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Tonight, we welcome you into the world of wonders!" The audience clapped and cheered as the man bowed. He cleared his throat, preparing to continue. "I'm the ringmaster! The god of the circus! The one and only Tengen Uzui! Prepare to be absolutely dazzled!"
The spotlight turned off, replaced by colorful lights dancing around the circus tent as Tengen made his escape.
Shinobu lightly clapped her hands while Sabito's eyes tried to follow one specific blue light.
Meanwhile, Giyuu's focus was on the trapeze that had suddenly dropped from the ceiling. He saw a faint silhouette climb onto it while everyone else was distracted.
He tugged on Sabito's sleeve, his head turning towards Shinobu. "Sabito, Shinobu, do you see that?" He nodded his head forward, gesturing upwards.
Sabito squinted, leaning forward a bit before he let out a little gasp. "Oh, shit! A trapeze act first?!"
"I repeat, you are very easy to entertain." Shinobu smiled.
All the colorful lights froze when a soft melody began to play. They all moved to illuminate a figure on the trapeze. The acrobat hung from their knees upside down, blowing kisses to the audience as they all laughed and waved at them. They gave a few swings before pushing themself up to stand on it.
The acrobat seemed to conjure up a bouquet of roses out of thin air before leaping to another trapeze Giyuu didn't even notice was there. They snatched up a rose from the bouquet and tossed it to a little girl in the audience. The little girl squealed excitedly, turning to her mother and practically shoving the rose in her mother's face.
"Giyuuuuu!" Sabito tapped on Giyuu's shoulder with a little too much force. "You should try and get one!"
Giyuu only rolled his eyes. "They're throwing them into the crowd at random. The chance of us getting one is low."
"Not us!" Shinobu interjected. "Just you!"
Sabito nodded in agreement before pointing both index fingers at Giyuu. "HEY!" He shouted loudly, trying to get the acrobat's attention. "Over here!"
Shinobu quickly joined in as well, waving her hand at the acrobat. "Our friend wants one, too!"
Giyuu had always been a little dense when it came to figuring out his friend's antics, but the sheer embarrassment he felt from the whole ordeal was enough for him to process it all rather quickly. His face took a pinkish tint as he nodded no, crossing his hands over his chest in an 'X' shape.
Unfortunately for him, it was a little too late to convince Sabito and Shinobu to sit back down. The next thing he knew, the acrobat was swinging towards him with a rose in hand.
The acrobat got a lot closer to Giyuu compared to the other guests. They were practically right in front of him, allowing him to really take their appearance in. Despite the extravagant make-up and flamboyant costume, he could tell they were a natural beauty.
The acrobat leaned closer to him, if that was even possible. Giyuu felt the strands of hair that framed his face get tucked behind his ear, the rose the acrobat held now resting securely on the side of his face.
"Enjoy the show," They whispered softly. "My dearest."
Giyuu felt his face heat up even more. He didn't know he was capable of getting that flustered. The acrobat laughed before the trapeze swung them away, leaving a very overwhelmed Giyuu with his already overwhelming companions.
"See?!" Sabito screeched. "I told you that you could get one!"
"And that never would've happened if you had stayed at home!" Shinobu nodded along, her finger poking at Giyuu's side.
But Giyuu only let out small hums of agreement, too focused on the velvety texture of the rose petals. The proximity of the two was enough to get his heart beating out of his chest like a lovestruck school boy.
For the rest of the night, Giyuu was absolutely captivated by the memory of the encounter. He could barely focus on the events happening right in front of him. Before he knew it, the show was over, and Sabito was dragging him out of the circus tent. Shinobu happily skipped behind them, preparing herself to tease Giyuu.
"Sooo..." Shinobu caught up, batting her eyes as she looked up at Giyuu. "Are you going to look for them?"
Giyuu blinked, his train of thought still struggling to run smoothly. "The acrobat?"
"Obviously!" Sabito spat. "We've never seen you so smitten! If a stranger can do that to little Giyuu, they've gotta be real special!"
"Go and find them!" Both of Shinobu's hands were placed on Giyuu's back as she pushed him away. "We'll meet you at the car!"
Giyuu wanted to protest. He wanted to say he just wanted to head back home. But he would be lying.
He gave the two a little nod before running off, desperate to find the stranger who had his stomach full of butterflies.
It didn't take long to find a trailer. It was a small walk from the circus tent, but carefully placed to avoid the guests from finding it on accident.
Of course, Giyuu found it on purpose.
He heard people chatting with each other inside. His heart was pounding, and he truly considered just going back to the car. But he pushed his doubts away, forcing himself to walk to the door of the trailer.
Giyuu inhaled deeply, trying to clear his head. He raised his hand, and before he could stop himself, he knocked.
"Just a minute!" A loud voice said. The door swung open with so much force. Giyuu was surprised it didn't fly off. The man who opened the door towered over him. Giyuu recognized him from the start of the show, the ringmaster, Tengen Uzui. "Well now, what do we have here? Looks like one of the guests got lost!" Tengen pointed in front of the trailer and past Giyuu. "Parking lot is over there, pal. But I can take you there if you're that lost."
"Oh, I... I'm not lost," Giyuu stumbled over his words. He would have to leave that out when Sabito and Shinobu asked about it later. "I'm looking for one of the performers. The... The one on the trapeze. Who was handing out the roses..."
Tengen's eyes scanned over Giyuu's form before they landed on the rose behind Giyuu's ear. "Oh, my! Seems like our little (Y/N)'s got an admirer!"
Giyuu quickly shook his head, his face heating up. "No, that's not what—"
"Hey, Suma!" Tengen shouted into the trailer before Giyuu could explain. Not that there was much to explain anyway. "Where's (Y/N)?!"
"Washing off their makeup!" A woman, who Giyuu assumed was Suma, replied. "Do you need them?"
"Uh huh! Tell them they've got a visitor!" Tengen replied. He turned back to Giyuu, placing his large hand on Giyuu's head and ruffling his hair. "I wouldn't usually let a stranger meet my performers, but I saw you in the audience earlier! You barely even looked up when it was time for my wives' acts. (Y/N) has got you wrapped around their finger, huh?"
Wives? Just how greedy is this guy? Giyuu didn't want to think too hard about that. "(Y/N)? That's their name?"
"Tengen!" Another voice chimed in. The new person pushed Tengen to the side, and that's when Giyuu saw them. Actually saw them.
Giyuu was right before. They were a natural beauty.
"Hi," Giyuu managed to voice. "I'm Giyuu Tomioka. I...liked your act. And your face. And the rose. The one you gave me."
The moment of silence that followed was a little awkward, especially for Giyuu. But it was interrupted by (Y/N) giggling.
"Thank you. I'm (Y/N) (L/N)," They gave Giyuu a small smile before speaking again. "Can I ask why you wanted to see me?"
"It's because he's in love!" Another woman shouted.
Tengen and three women were watching from behind the door frame, seemingly invested in the conversation. (Y/N) sighed and slammed the door shut.
"This is probably weird, but they're not...entirely wrong..." Giyuu avoided eye contact. The ground was suddenly very interesting.
"I figured. Tengen is usually the one the audience wants to see after the show ends." (Y/N) spoke softly, as if trying not to spook him away like a small animal.
"So what now?" Giyuu asked. "I can leave it you'd like,"
Giyuu felt a pair of arms wrap around his neck, pulling him in. "How about a date?" (Y/N) whispered to him, just like during their performance.
Giyuu's heart felt like it was about to explode. He probably would've passed out if it wasn't for the thought of how embarrassing that would be for him.
"I... I would like that."
